COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This delectable blonde ale is a co-creation of two famed farmstead breweries: Brewery Ommegang and Brasserie d’Achouffe. It employs five fine malts, two noble hops, and both of the distinctive Chouffe and Ommegang yeasts. You’ll enjoy the smooth drinkability, fruity aromas and flavors, and warming finish

In storage since last August, it is finally time to tackle this big 750. Estery, yeasty aroma that comes off as very Belgian. Looks like a golden lager, except with copious amounts of carbonation bursting upwards. Unique flavor - delicate and fruity like a saison, while packing a mean alcohol punch as well. I sensed sweetness predominantly, though there’s a nice bitter and tart contrast. Much easier to drink than most beers of this strength. Far paler than most tripels, it is hard to define. Imperial Pale Ale? Doesn’t sound very Belgian, does it? A good collab, though Moortgat holds the keys to both contributors.

750 ml. Mostly clear and golden with a lasting ring of cream. Nose of earthy grape must, and spicy resin. Flavors of earthy honeycomb, toasted bread, smoky bacon, and spicy citrus. Medium body has low-medium carbonation and is well balanced. I love the d’Achouffe yeast so this must be the reason this is the best of the dozen or so Ommegangs I’ve had.

Too much Ommegang and not enough of the gnome here. Has some nice floral hops on the top. Probably one of the best Ommegangs I’ve had though. Pours clear blond with a little head and lacing. Some booze in aroma as well. Finishes with light sweet and bitterness. On tap.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold. Thick eggy head with high retention and lacing. Smells amazing and delicious, malt, yeast, banana, pear, fig, clove, spice, sugar. Taste is almost as good as smell, sugar and malt dominate, fig, banana, pear, boozey but smooth. Mouthfeel is perfect, crisp carbonation, velvety finish. This is my kind of beer. Surprised by lower ratings, underrated in my book. Maybe slightly sweet.

Pours hazy orange, no head or lace. Aroma of very ripe orchard fruit, skins, chocolate, nuts, light nutmeg, cinnamon. Flavor is fruity sweat muscat grapes, nutmeg, slightly spiced, dusty apple skins. Feel is fairly juicy but then watery and dry. Enjoyable and good with food.

On draught at Winking Lizard. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium foamy white head that evaporates slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, spice and yeast. Medium to full body with flavors of earthy yeast, fruit and grainy malt. The finish is sweet with a banana and yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

750ml bottle, best before 2/2013 .. . thanks for selling this to me Shoky, been wanting to try this .. . a simple gold .. light foam .. . light yeast, peach, light apricot, cereal, very light cork, and expired honey .. . mouth is very easy .. .
mouth is surprisingly flat, i mean it has a decent amount of carbonation (more than 90% of lost abbey beers for example) but for an ommengang or Achouffe brew, which are usually quite lively, slightly disappointing in that fold .. .
this was an ok beer, really was hoping for much more though.. . .
Yeah, well, I think I didn’t wanna... you know, my father smoked a lot, and, uh... he’s been smoking for years. He tried to quit, you know, he tried everything, you know, he tried hypnosis, and it didn’t really take, and then he tried that thing with all the needles, what do they call that... heroin. .. .

he loves it!

This seemed more like a Belgian strong than a blonde as listed on the bottle. Nice yeast and malt aroma with alcohol. Poured a cloudy dark straw color with minimal head. Belgian yeast with some wheat and spice. Alcohol was present up front but works. Palate was heavier and smoother than expected. This one also packed a punch. Good drinkable stuff.

Pours a slightly hazy gold with a minimal white head. Smells of earth, barnyard, plums, figs. Taste is sweet, lightly bitter, spiced and sour - funk plums, strong belgian yeasty fruit, peppery hops.

Aroma citrus and a sweet smell. Apperence light golden with a slight white head strong citrus flavor with effervesence that tickles your mouth long on the palate with spicy overtones. Maybe coriander
