3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a bright and hazy yellowish golden with a medium white head. More sweet aroma contains orange, wheat, apple, banana, and spices. Very Belgainy. The taste is fruity which is balanced by a nice sweetness. It loses a little bit from the aroma. Here we find wheat, orange, banana, and just a touch of orange. Orange and wheat aftertaste is short. Alcohol content is noticed rather quickly. Medium bodied, thick in texture, with soft carbonation. Nothing really stands out with this one to make it really special, but its alright.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy dark yellow pour with a small fluffy white head that fades to a ring but sticks. Very Belgian golden aroma - yeast, esters, candy sugar and more. Same on the flavor only a tad sweet with a lingering bitter bite.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pale hazy gold with white head. Nose is light yeasty spice, wheat malt, floral citrus, faint banana esters, and mild booze. Flavor is spiced lemon, lightly salty wheat, and banana with a citrus and light alcohol spice finish. Clean with fruity residual and a medium+ palate.

12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Gold and cloudy with a white head and light lacing. The aroma is Belgian yeast, fruity esters, light alcohol, noble hops and light malts. Smooth, strong and fruity flavor with a medium to full body and a warming finish. Nice "make your own 6" find.

2013.10.22 - Ommegang Gnomegang - on tap at Broad Axe. Pours pretty blonde, maybe a tad darker yellow than you’d assume. Mild carbonation/head. Taste is pretty good. I agree with other reviews saying clover, pepper, grassy tones. A pretty balanced sweetness. Not a huge fan of this style but I’ve repeat ordered it and enjoyed it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle picked up at Brewforia Eagle for a pricey $4ish... Pours with a resilient 3 finger foamy white head... the brew is hazed golden.
Nose is full of character.... pear, apple, hints of clove and pepper.. a little grassy as it warms up.
Flavor mirrors the aroma with a bit more clover presence that begins mid-palate and powers through the finish... the phenols sorta clobber the fruity esters, but again the pear and apple are still pretty present.
Expected huge carbonation... the body doesn’t seem like a 9.5% brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
750ml bottle 10/12/13 (Hy-Vee Cedar Rapids)-42° in Trappist Glass-Pours a near clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, grains, fruit, and slight hops. Taste of the same with more hops, grains, malt, yeast, and fruits. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and has a bit more flavore than the Duvel Rustica blonde.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 750ml corked and caged bottle into a tulip glass. The label has a nice description of the beer and it lists the abv at 9.5%.
Appearance: The body has a tan/blonde color with a heavy haze and some light brown sediment floating around near the bottom of the glass. On top there is an off white cap of foam that slowly settles and makes some nice slick lacing on the glass.
Smell: There is a big classic Belgian yeast character coming to the nose. With it comes fruit, funk and wet hay mixed with some sweet bready malt and solid notes of floral/spicy hops.
Taste/Palate: It started with a nice base of sweet bready malt and yeast with a light touch of funk and wet hay. Inside this are some nice fruity notes as well and I get white wine grapes, light unripe peach and mild orange blossom. This is all backed up by a firm floral and spicy hop bitterness that adds a pleasant balance and dryness to the finish. It’s well balanced on the palate and fun to drink.
Notes: Overall it is an outstanding Belgian which to me seems to fits somewhere between a Blond and a Triple. Also of note here is the very well hidden 9.5% abv.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample pour a while back at the Happy Gnome...cloudy orange body, decent head for a 5 oz pour as well. Aroma is yeasty and spicy...remember thinking it had some pepper notes in particular...definitely has a bite to it with some fruit in the background. Flavor is quite similar...very yeasty/bready with some slight bitterness and spice along with a bit of fruit. Palate was light but well carbonated. Interesting drink, it didn’t hold up to some of the other Belgians I was sampling this evening, but still a nice brew.

The beer appears to have a nice orange color with a slight haze to it, nice white head and a decent lace. The smell is a nice fruity aroma with a nice banana and clove smell too. The taste is outstanding with banana and clove with some mild spicey flavors, a great combination. The mouthfeel is spicey and with a later taste of clove too. Overall, this is a great colaboration between two great brewers. A great combination of taste and smell. I had this beer on tap prior to having it in bottle but forgot to review it....they hit a home run with this beer. If you can, stock up on this beer before it is gone,
