Both of the brewery’s in this adventure are great and maybe I just wanted to much, but I was a little let down. All the basics are here aroma good, appearance great but at 9.5 abv you think you are going to get a big and complex beer and I was bored with it. Easy drinker and I would drink again but with less expectation.

On tap at Parry's. Sparkling golden color with a small white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of belgian wheat and citrus. Perfect carbonation. A very smooth beer with a bit if a bite at the end. Tastes yeasty and sweet and very belgian. A light Trappist-type feel. Yum. Beer candy.

Floral and aromatic for a blonde ale with a touch of spice; unfiltered light golden pour from 12 oz bottle. Two fingers of foam in a snifter/tulip. Soapy lacing that doesn’t cling. Tastes of bitter flowers/fruit...apricot? Medium to full-bodied that is a touch creamy. Dry finish that you get with most Ommegang lighter SRM beers. Easily my favorite blonde ale - it’s not one of my favorite styles, but this is pretty nice.

Taste has caramel, bread, orange, yeast, grass, fruity notes, some sweetness. Late alcohol warms the throat, orange and lemon hop aftertaste with generous yeast notes. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Very pleasant, bottle was about 8 months old, stored cool.

From bottle. Pours an opaque straw orange. Large white head. Big yeast nose, with a baked sugar quality. Mild pepper and orange. Become more complex on warming. Round flavors of butterscotch and peach cobbler on the sweet side, balance out with peppercorns, citrus and light earthiness. Dry finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Eulogy and later Good Dog. Hazy yellow blonde pour that starts with a large foamy white head. A clear blend of styles. Grassy hops. Sweet yeasty notes. Clementines. Biscuits. Has the feel of a Belgium single or strong ale married with a wheat beer. The result is better than both but still not overly extraordinary (to me).
