WLG423 (43), Connecticut, USA Nov 7, 2009 A light citrus fruit aroma with earthy notes. Pours out a light gold with a persistent small bright white head. The more pungent yeast aroma is a constant through the aroma and flavor. Body is light and smooth with more sour citrus notes. The earthy yeast leaves a unique flavor on the palate. kangaroo (8), Everett, Washington, USA does not count Nov 7, 2009 Nice golden beer with a good head.. Mild aroma. Mild finish with a touch of bitterness. Some clove notes and some pleasant yeastiness. gsmitty80 (628), Washington DC, USA Nov 6, 2009 One of the better beers out there. Absolutly great aroma taste and palate. Had it a bunch of times and only rating it now. Drink up! DavidHawman (7), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Nov 2, 2009 Pours a hazy gold with a large head that fades to thin lacing. Smells of yeast with faint notes of citrus and spice. Taste is pleasant with mild fruit followed by a slightly bitter hop finish. A silky mouthfeel is broken up a bit by the carbonation. Very enjoyable. bookman10 (84), Osseo, Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2009 Looks and tastes more like a wheat beer than a saison. Not too different from a Hoegaarden. Light hazy golden color with little head. Some spice and cloves and yeast flavors present, with a bit of a bite to the finish. A very enjoyable beer. dagimp (108), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 29, 2009 From a 12 oz bottle into a snifter. Pours a golden haze with an inch of head and no lacing. Smells like yeast and some cloves. Taste is smooth and yeasty. Banana notes and cloves are present and well blended. A good drinking saison that goes down smooth and tasty. A bit expensive but it’s of very good quality. RickTStiles (14), New York, USA Oct 28, 2009 An old favorite! Thought I would try it again from a critical perspective. 12oz Bottle poured into trappist glass. Pours hazy golden with a floral bouquet. Thick frothy head. Nose is warm spices which linger through the slowly developing body of classic belgian floral notes balanced against a hoppy but full back bone. The finish is hoppy and lasts pelasantly long.
Overall a wonderfully enjoyable beer that I’m sure I will purchase again and again. Prometheus (97), Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA Oct 26, 2009 Bottle from Sams.
Really enjoyed this.
Bright and hazy yellow with decent head.
Malt, slight bitter, citrus, spice.
Nice, complex saison flavors.
Very nice!
