gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA May 24, 2009 2003 cave-aged bottle, courtesy MCLK. Clear straw pour, thick filmy white head, massive lacing. Very dry nose, some wheat, and yeasty as hell. Flavor has some grapes and a slight tart touch, but very dry wheaty grain overall. Medium-bodied, hasn’t aged terribly well, but still easy to drink. Iceman82 (26), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 21, 2009 750 ml from Binny’s. Pours a golden hue with a nice fluffy head that seems to last for awhile. Aromas is a little hops, citrus and yeast. On the palate its crisp and pretty carbonated. Like the description says IT DOES have some champagne like qualities. Flavor is citrus, hops, spice and lots of Belgian yeast. This is a great beer....definitely something for quenching the summertime thirst!!!! HOPSHUNTER (376), Tampa, Florida, USA May 20, 2009 Bottle. Light golden color with a white head. Aroma is sweet malt, hops, and fruit. Flavor is malty, somewhat sweet and spicy with some citrus and yeast notes. Moderate alcohol in the finish. Not very interesting. bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA May 19, 2009 Sampled from bottle at GOBF. Nice golden pour, witha typical saison style white head. Very spicy and yeasty smell. Very saison in the feel and flavor with citrusy hops and some hay in there. Really like it. alagnak (301), Littleton, Colorado, USA May 18, 2009 pungent, little skunky (but not in a bad way) nose. Tastes like Belgium - wheat, spiciness, light citrus and just a touch of the funky sour saison barnyard, which really plays well with the carbonation. Best american Saison I’ve tried. Could drink it all day long (and have), despite the rather high ABV. BroSpud (586), , Massachusetts, USA May 17, 2009 Tasting at a beerfest [Disclaimer: This was tasted along with many, many other beers during a tasting at Julios. Some of the details are a little hazy]. Good example of this style. WVHouseofBeer (341), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA May 14, 2009 Poured a hazy yellow with a big frothy white head that lasted a long, long time, leaving a lot of noticeable lacing in its’ wake. Fully of taste with citrus, yeast, and spice notes that make you wish the bottle would never end. An excellent beer from an excellent brewery, no wonder this brew is cousin of the Tripel. LC - CP imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA May 13, 2009 750ml bottle. Pour is hazy golden with a lasting fizzy white head. Aromas of spice, yeast, and slight hops. Flavor is crisp and light with lots of carbonation, slight funk, and yeast. Decent but nothing great imo.
