Commercial Description:
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

On tap at Red Restaurant in Santa Cruz. Hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma is sweet malt, light fruits, yeast, and a little mild funk. Flavor is malt, earth, spices, light fruits, and mild hops. Not bad but would like a little more to it. Fairly high carbonation, crisp and refreshing.

just had a large bottle of this beer... It poured a beautiful hazy golden color. The carbonation is evident in the pour... the bubbles were huge!!! not quite in the coke category, but close!!! The smell is sweet and fruity, with slight whiff of yeast, alcohol, and hops. The flavor starts spicy then turns light citrus/yeasty and finishes very dry (almost like a bottle of merlot)... The high carbonation/ light body makes this beer very crisp and drinkable for such a high abv.. def try again any chance I can get!!!

Bottle, courtesy of Harry. Light to medium yellow, medium fluffy white head, streaming bubbles. Amazing aroma - earthy, floral, yeast - classic farmhouse here mixed with some hops. Great taste - lemon, musty, yeast. Body a tad thin. No alcohol at all, very drinkable. Great beer.

Pours a nice golden color with a large white head. Aroma is spices, yeast, spices, malt. Flavor is yeast, spices, hops, musty funk, esthers, fruit, coriander. Loads of carbonation in this one and finishes a tad sweet with a little bitterness. Nice brew.

750ml Bottle from Hiller’s market in Northville, MI. This pours a pale yellow with medium fluffy white head. The aroma is of red wine and sugar. It’s slightly fruity, with some caramel notes. This beer is really great. This is my second offering from Ommegang, and I think they are a great specialty brewery. Cheers!

Bottle picked up at StateLine. Poured into a snifter. Golden orange in color, decent head that didnt stick around. Nice musty, earthy, and yeast aroma. Taste has a nice little spicyness to it. Along with some ctirus, yeasty, earthy notes. It has a nice hoppy after taste. Texture is light and lots of carbonation. Easy drinking. Nice saison.

I am not in the best condition to be rating this beer if you know what I mean. As always with a saison, it is not a problem to open an uncarbonated beer. Nice harze orange in color. I am having a dead mans party here. Nice yeast/malt taste. Very good actually. Decent malt/yeast aroma that isn’t as pungent as I thought it would be. Nice taste, but the palate is a bit too carbonated. Nice fruity saison flavor. Carbonation is a bit much.
