3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 FunkyBrewster (1316) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 11, 2011
On tap, pours a medium golden with a small white head. Aroma is lightly fruity with some spiciness and a clean belgian yeast note, a touch of stinkiness though faint. Flavor starts with a sweet fruity character, fairly dry, some apple and white wine like notes ,just without the acidity. Finishes dry with a touch of spice and the belgian yeast notes. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Not a bad saison, aggressive and softly drinkable.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 msojka (411) - New Jersey, USA - APR 9, 2011
Pour is a light yellow color with a quickly dissipating white head. Nose is of sweetness, fruits, and a little honey. Taste is of lemon and honey mostly. Light and refreshing while still a little thick on the tongue.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 eclaycamp (187) - , Kansas, USA - APR 8, 2011
12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass. Beer pours relatively clear, with some minor yeast particles present, though that’s not unusual for the style. Good carbonation and a nice big head top the beer. Aroma is tart and fruity with damp straw underneath. Taste is honey sweet - almost surprisingly so - followed by a refreshing lemon dryness. Crisp light cracker malt can be found in the middle of the beer, with a light peppery phenolic finish that’s dry and leaves you wanting to drink more. Mouthfeel is effervescent and somewhat sticky, kind of like a sticky soda. Overall a very solid example of the style and better than I was anticipating.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Khartnavi (21) - Goose Arm, Newfoundland, CANADA - APR 6, 2011
12oz bottle from a friend who went down to Ft. Myers from Newfoundland and wrapped it up in her luggage. Poured into my glass and I could smell the funk even though I don’t have a strong sense of smell. The first swig was offensive, but it got better as I went along. Maybe they weren’t kidding about serving it at 40 degrees?

Cave aged bomber (aged 1-2008 through 12-2008). Pours hazy orange with quarter inch white head. Aroma is yeast and apple. Flavor is apple and pear. Nice and sessionable.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Powertrip (758) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 30, 2011
Single bottle purchased from a Price Chopper in Lake Placid, NY on 03/30/2011. Colour: Grayish yellow with lots of pillowy white foam. Nose: Crisp apple, barley and yeast. Egg noodle, ginger, paprika, malt vinegar. Facsinating. Taste: Medium sweet, medium-light bitter, medium-light sour. Icing sugar is abundant but also accompanied by oranges, fresh bread, exotic spices. Another overly sweet Ommegang beer, but still decently crafted.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jrallen34 (3434) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 24, 2011
The beer is very clear medium straw, hardly distinguishable from any other farm or lager. The head is about a finger, gone quickly with decent retention.
The aroma is ok, nothing outstanding with light hops and flowers.
The taste is better than I thought after the aroma, but once again nothing to distinguish itself as a great, it is what it is. There is light hoppiness with flowers.
The beer is really watery but easily drinkaable.
Overall this to me is just a little more pricey sessional, nothing special
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 icehawk (103) - Mount Pleasant, USA - MAR 19, 2011
Slightly murky pale pour. Not much aroma; yeast, slight spice. Taste is very nice; red apple (sweet, not bitter) almost tastes cider-ish. Definitely yeasty like an unfiltered wheat beer, but lighter. Nice and refreshing although more filling than I would have thought.
