Pours amber with an inch head. Didn’t get a ton of aroma in part it was served in a refrigerated glass. After warming the beer up I got a lot of hoppiness. Champagne like effervescence? Not so much. Least favorite of ommegang.

12 oz bottle. Murky light gold pour with a thin white head. Aroma is mostly clove, banana, cracked wheat, and a definite punch of funk. Tastes about the same as it smells. Definitely funky, but not unpleasantly so. The flavors came out more as it warmed. Not a big saison drinker but I think this is a pretty good beer.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dionysus (1257) - Arizona, USA - MAR 13, 2011
Bottle pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma shows notes of peach, pear, apple, coriander, pepper and an underlying yeastiness. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of fig, vanilla, wheat, and lemon peel.Typically I like a little more funk on my saisons but this has quite a bit of fruit depth to make it really interesting.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 brigg (362) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - MAR 11, 2011
(bottle) Giant white head with stiff peaks on a pale golden, bubbling body. Aroma is moderately sweet, and yeasty; with ripe fruit (banana, peach), cloves, lemon citrus, and light alcohol. Flavor is very peppery, moderately sweet with lots of yeast, notes of lemon peel. Dry finish, citrus-bitter aftertaste. Light to medium bodied.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 scarletfire65 (420) - Rockaway Park, New York, USA - MAR 10, 2011
Cloudy golden, small quickly dissipating head. Aroma is herbal, apple, citrus, grassy, a little bit of barnyard funk to remind you that it is a saison. Palate is crisp and refreshing, moderate carbonation, Flavors of citrus, yeast, biscuit, and banana. Very drinkable, but a little rough around the edges, not quite as refined as a true Belgian farmhouse ale.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 SoberCajun (102) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAR 9, 2011
Pours a nice cloudy blonde with soapy white head, dissipates but with good lacing. Bright hoppy aroma, citrus, grass - carries over into the flavor with a nice bready character. Decent mouthfeel, could be a tad thicker for me, nice lingering tastes though.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Photog (203) - Camillus, New York, USA - MAR 7, 2011
Cloudy golden yellow with lasting white head. Lively carbonation. Light bitterness and a sweetness with spices. Pear and banana taste. Definitely a belgian yeast flavor. Nice light beer, really enjoying Saisons.

Refreshing, crisp, hoppy, satisfying. Color is a golden shade of brilliance. Taste is a bit sweet, a bit malty, and some slight banana notes. Love the farmhouse ale feel, but a step up from that. Goes down smooth considering the abv, but its a belgian so what else should one expect as long as it carefully brewed and Ommegnang does a brillaint job.
