3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 27, 2008 12oz Bottle. Lemon wheat cloudy pour, tinged with orange. Rimmed with a symmetrical sticky white. Gentle warm pear and fresh bread aroma. A soft citrus flavor combined with warm yeast. Alcohol is surprisingly biting and somewhat harsh on the finish. Mainly a run of pineapple and other generic fruits that don’t fully rear their heads.

Gold pour is extremely carbonated with a large head....laces well. Taste is well spiced, sweet with hints of clove on the front end and a little hop bitterness on the finish.

Had this one soon after saison dupont. Quite a contrast between the two. THis one is a bit hoppier and doesnt really have a lot in the yeast "funk" department. All of the spiciness that you’d expect in , say, a tripel is here, but that special Saison quality just seems to be missing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Poured a clear golden yellow ale with a huge bubbly white head with above standard retention. Aroma of pear and lemon with some distinguishable yeast. Taste is really hoppier then most Saison I have tried with a dry finish. Body is quite full and spice mix is interesting but could have been more accentuated. Very interesting take on the style.

Bottle. Pear and orange aroma. Light orange-yellow color with nice head. Nice fruity flavor - lemon primarily but also apple and pear. On the dry side with a mild hops finish. Hoppier than most saisons but still a very good and enjoyable beer.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. (12oz.) Pours a hazy lemon color with a big soapy, lasting head. The head produces excellent glass lacing. Aroma of corriander, lemon, and spice. Flavor is familiar with bananas, lemon, wheat, and sweet malt. Finishes somewhat sour. Medium well carbonated, very drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Looks and smells pretty much like the Avery Twelve I just had. I have to declare that a saison to me is just a light-tasting Belgian that hides the alcohol well and the flavors are subtle. Very nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Comes out a golden color with a lingering head. Very drinkable; it is solid but not outstanding in any way.
