This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

I’ve had this bottle a while, and I hope it was passed its prime. I’ll have to get another bottle to compare. The yellow color was right, and I got a thin white head, but the nose and taste were almost watery. There was a soft alcohol sense, with all the right flavors of candy sugar, doughy yeast and subtle spices, but it was just washed out. Still okay, but I expected better.

About half an inch of white head. Amazing aroma of hops. Tastes really sweet and bitter at the same time. An excellent beer.

Wow... third beer Ive had from this cooperstown brewery and have been more and more impressed everytime. I like the unfiltered belgian style of this beer. Ive had some disappointing beers tonight but this is a saving grace to the night. Good flavor and very carbonated but worth a try. I bumped this overall rating up one point because Kevin Rezai said so.

Nice golden body with a white foamy head. The aroma was fairly skunky hoppy and fruity). The overall effect was excellent. The taste was failry sweet with a little hoppy finish (enough to balance the brew, not to make it overly bitter). On the whole I enjoyed this beer. The other Ommegang I have had, the Three Philosophers, became much to heavy for full enjoyment, where as this was just right; drinkable to the last drop.

A nice hazy yellow to yellow-orange. Big frothy head. Nice aroma of pear and apricot. First taste is hot citrus, like grapefruit rind, then soft pears...more pears..and then some. Maybe a bit of a perfumey notes on the back end to detract from a great one.

My first Saison. Pours orangish-gold with a billowing white head. Aroma reminded me of a tripel--banana and cloves--but with more earthy tones. Flavor was like a mellowed-out tripel, with some noticeable orange notes. Good beer.

Hazy golden with a full creamy white head that lasts a long time and laces nicely. Light, pleasant aroma of fuit and a touch of hops. Spicy and tingly effervescent on the tongue. Yeasty with a hint of sweetness perfectly balanced with the hops for a crisp, dry finish. Smooth and drinkable, there is nothing here not to like. Excellent. This one goes on the regular buy list.

murky straw color with lasting head at once fizzy and creamy, aroma somewhat of a witt - bannan and clove, overripe apple and spicey, enough hop presence to offset the sweet, very champagne like qualities, I believe the first in class that I have rated.

Full gold color with scents of oranges and anise. Flavors are a mix of juicy, fruity malts balanced with a light acidity. More herbs and spices show up before the short, dry finish. Quite good.
