3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden, cloudy brew with nice head retention. Very similar to Unibroue’s La Fin du Monde, but not quite as good in my opinion. Has a slightly "cheaper" flavor profile than La Fin du Monde. Spicy, light and refreshing. A good beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2004 Pours a rich, hazy, golden color with a big, foamy white head that leaves tons of elegant lace as it slowly fizzes away. This beer is very well carbonated and has a Champagne-like character to it. Aroma is sweet and lager like with notes of hops, sweet fruit, grapes, malt, and alcohol. Flavor is very crisp and again reminds me of Champagne. Initial flavor is dry and peppery with notes of alcohol and yeast, followed by a burst of sweet fruit flavors and a slightly bitter, hop filled finish. In spite of the sweetness of this beer the alcohol presence is strong throughout. Overall, this is a great substitute for Champagne and would also be perfectly suited as an apertif before a winter feast.

Another good offering from Ommegang. Had this beer while at the brewery. Lighter than the other ommegang beers with more hops flavor and a nice malted spice flavor.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2008 [12 oz. bottle] Hazy yellow color with a big and thick white head. Spicy aroma of wheat, pepper, citrus and grass. Very peppery and yeasty flavor with a sweet taste in the middle and a sweet and yeasty aftertaste. Very crisp and refreshing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2004 Poured a hazy honey colored yellow with a large and enchanting white head. Big bubbles all around.
Aroma was of yeast, fruitiness, grasses in a blender, a few spices, etc.
Flavors included all kinds of fruits, yeast, and spices. Not bad but certainly not what I was expected. Very alcoholic, to much so, especially compared to Belgian great Saisons (Blaugies, Fantome, Dupont)

bottle. pours nice with head that lasts for the length of the drink. looks great, tasts very good, goes down well. A secret treasure from Hennepin (I say because of its $4.00 cost for a 750 ml bottle)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2004 Deep brown with a creamy beige head. Nice fruit on the nose. perhaps prune? Big mouthfeel, but cloyingly sweet. Hard to drink more than a half a glass as the beer becomes very heavy and sweet. Nice fruity undertones with some chocolate

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2005 This pours a hazy golden hue with a frothy head that lingers for the length of the drink. Floral and citric hops, in that order, come through in the aroma. Fruity taste with a definite alcohol presence. Has a bitter, winey finish. Not a bad experience.
