This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Very unusual and interesting. Light golden hue and nice foamy head. Aromas of dough, apples, and hops. Taste is hard to describe. Apples, bananas, yeast, spices, and bitterness. Slightly sweet and perfectly carbonated. For some reason there are also lager-type tastes and aromas. This is excellent stuff.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2009 Hazy, light gold liquid with a fat, whipped, perfectly beaded head.Effervesence is constant.Fun beer to look at.Excellent lacework.Musty, floral, malty aromas. Delicate, spritzy, mouthfeel. For the heavy carbonation,it’s not that noticeable in the mouth.Well rounded fruity, malty flavors with a slightly sour,really-hoppy finish. This is beautiful in the glass and delicious.

Kind of champagne color, pure white frothy head. Yeasty aroma. Quite a bit of carbonation. Pretty delicate mouthfeel. Soft flavor, fruity. A little hoppy.

Mildly fruity tasting and decently strong. just because it was made in cooperstown NY doesnt mean it lacks in anything. it is very good. very light and crisp. a must try.

An excellent Belgian ale bested slightly by their Ommegang. Not as yeasty, peppery, heathery as a more typical saison such as du pont. Rounder, fuller with more appreciable punch.

sometime in Aug 02: This hit me with spices and alcohol but in time I was downing this like it was crack cocaine..Spicy..smooth, fizzy, and lovely..I commend them on such a great brew being not belgian an all..Rock on!...Re-Rate 11/23/02: yellow but opaque due to trillions of almost microscopic floating phantasms..aroma stung in lemon honey, yeast notes, and maybe a tad of ginger..sweet, slightly metallic for a few moments, then deep honey flavor, sprinkles of lemon..yeasty subtleness..some light apple juiciness..thick satisfying mouthfeel..Sometimes I wish I lived in a farmhouse in france..or belgium or inside the baseball hall of fame..

Thought this beer was pretty good. Typical Belgian style aroma - very yeasty and estery. Flavor had some hints of apple and pear with some very subtle spiciness. Overall I thought the flavor was a little lacking, though, just too light.

Wonderful rich golden color. Full head. Some lacing. Earthy nose. Thin palate. Great flavor. Very little hoppy aftertaste.
