3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 onceblind (1358) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 11, 2010
The pour was interesting. Bigger head than I imagined a saison would have, huge and fluffy. The colour seemed to have its own inner glow. Slightly hazy pale golden hue. Smelled of orange, hay, bread dough, and coriander. Texture was champagne like with lots of prickly bubbles. Taste was much like the nose and much like the texture. Farm-like funk, hay, orange zest hops, mild bitterness, dry finish. This style isn’t really my thing, but this seemed like a perfect saison, for what it is. Very delicate like champagne, but interesting nonetheless.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 chickenflea (227) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - DEC 9, 2010
Beer poured a cloudy pineapple juice color with a massive white head. Aroma was sour apple, yeast, ginger, coriander. Peppery. Taste was light and spicy with subtle umami on the aftertaste. Fruity and tart with a light hoppy finish. Mouthfeel had high carbonation. Light spicy texture was champagne-like. Overall an excellent and highly drinkable beer. Lively and refreshing. Complex and satisfying.

Slight lemon clove nose. Golden color and foamy head. Cotton candy bread slight funk, decent bitterness. Big carbonation, medium body, clovy long finish, great alcohol warmth peaking at the end. Great beer, hearty, but very delicate with sophisticated flavors

Bottle. Poured into a snifter. My first aroma note came with the pop of the cork, a nose of champagne. A golden pour with a fizzy white head with nice lacing. Melon, spice, black pepper, pear notes with a crisp palate. A warming sensation with this beer. Really enjoyable.

Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a nice head and a bit of lacing sticking around. Smell has a good bit of earthiness along with some spice and a few Belgian-yeast esters. Quite pungent; a bit more so than the taste. Mouthfeel is very nice with a crisp carbonation and and nice dash of citrus/earthy dryness. Drinkability is very, very good; really wish this was sold in 4-packs around here.

Bounds into the glass with spirit. Frothy and full white head, nice lacing. Heady aroma of spice and hop, backed by by solid malt. Beautiful straw color. Really benefits from a tulip glass to catch the aromatics and flavor. Great with food every time I have tried it; it id not matter what the food was.

Big bottle, Poured kind of like a coudy golden color. Big frothy champagne style head that disspated fairly quickly. Fruit aroma with slight malts and hops. Med sweetness, light bitter. Med bodies, with slick texture. Average carbonation. Long tastey finish. Complex, unique beer. Taste of fruits with some spices. Good balance of hops, just enough in there. Well done.

Bottle, 750ml. Pours a bright , lively yellow straw with a thick, mashed potato looking head. Mouthfeel is light, almost champagne like, and tastes of lemony citrus and yeasty pear. Finish is delightfully smooth. An absolutely delicious belgian.
