COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Cave aged and 5 years old, thanks Tom L!!The notes are maple syrup and vanilla with a bit of caramel - delicious. The color is thick amber orange with a bubbly effervescent head and bodym the flavor is funky, sweet, and smooth vanilla with a medium bubbly body, so delicious!

12oz bottle pours hazy straw gold with loose tall white frothy head. The aroma is spicy, floral, acidic and then moving toward sweet apples, yeasty spices and then becoming a bit funky at the end of the draw. The taste is tart, slightly acidic, sweet with apple and pears and spicy too. It seems to run from bright spicy and slightly tart to smooth soft fruity sweet and then back to back again into the finish. All the while there’s a note or two of yeasty spice and mild funk hovering around.

On tap at TCBF, pours hazy golden. Aroma and flavour of hops, caramel and citrus - unusually sweet for a saison, but a delicious one.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2010 Has a cloudy, pale light orange color. Very soft appearance with a light, yet foamy, white head. It’s a really beautiful beer for being so light in appearance. The white head is light and frothy, but very dense. Aroma is actually a little bitter, citric, and metallic with an edge of earthiness and vegetation. DOn’t eat chocolate before drinking this beer... it will mess with your palate. The flavor is a little sour, yeasty, and I wouldn’t doubt if there’s some wheat in this beer. For a saison it’s pretty traditional, but light. It has a slightly bitter finish with a moderate yeast presence. Now, I wouldn’t consider this a hoppy beer, but there are definitely hops in the background. The bottle says, "hoppy and crisp". I wouldn’t consider this hoppy at all, and it could use to be a little more crispy, as the sourness interrupts the crispness a little. Over time, after your palate gets used to the citrus and sourness, the malt slowly presents itself a little. It’s a great beer, good looking for its style, but personally I’m not a real big fan of this one.

Slightly citrusy and barnyard funky, this beer means a lot to me as the first craft beer I ever bought a 4 pack of.

Pours hazy yellow with white head, aroma is some grassy floral hops, some biscuit and fruity esters, spicy yeast finish. Nice saison, complex with lots of flavors and still easy to drink.

Bottle. My first saison. Straw gold color with aroma of cloves and fruit-bananas. Palate is light-medium body, fizzy. Taste is sweet and slightly sour. Pairs excellent with mussles.

Pours cloudy banana yellow with pillowy white head. Aromas of banana and clove. Palate has lots of effervesence but is also rich, creamy and full-bodied. Tangerine and banana on palate with long, smooth finish. Delish.
