Pours golden clear, white head.
Aroma is reminiscent of Belgian yeast and saison style and just overwhelmed the scent upon opening the bottle, add some lemon and spices; clove.
Flavor, spices, yeasty, very typical Belgian style, some light citrus notes and hops, other fruits; apple to be noted. Finish is lightly bitter with some funk and yeast. pete4999 (125), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2009 On tap over the summer at Sterling Tavern. I liked it a lot. Simple, goes down easy, yet it’s flavorful. Champagne is a good comparison, actually. A nice American example of a saison. nuplastikk (1171), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 7, 2009 750ml bottle aged the better part of two years. Hazy, just barely translucent orange-tan with a formidable head. The aroma certainly holds up, still has a lemony funk to it. Very soft on the palate, but still packs a punch. Not unlike a Tripel in some respects, but has more tangy barnyard thing going on. Pleasantly sweet yet also displays a touch of sourness. Very true to it’s Belgian style, this is a top notch complex beer. arrogantb (700), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2009 I have been curious about Saisons and I heard this one was the best so what the hell? I poured this one into a Chimay chalice and watched the bubbles rise furiously from the etching in the bottom of the glass. teh head was aggressive and foamy white. The beer was a cloudy, yet somehow bright yellow color. The smell was yeasty. The taste was crispy, a little phenolic (but not much), maybe a hint of pepper hiding in there. The alcohol was completely masked which was nice. This beer would be perfect for a hot day.

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Loved tjhis peer, the body is cloudy and a nice white foam head that dissipated quickly. It’s a medium body with hints of belguim sugar, fruits and finished with a nice, smooth taste. The aroma is mixed between all this, very nice blend and balanced, a little more carbonated than most beers in this category but great all around. evergreen0199 (259), London, Greater London, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Draught at Hopleaf, Chicago. Nice golden pour with big white head. Citrus aroma. Tastes refreshing, crisp, citrus fruit, banana, champagne like. Pleasant beer. craftycarl21 (523), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Pours a light gold with a big frothy white head. Aroma holds nectarine, grapefruit, spice, yeast, banana, and a bit of wheat malt. In the flavor, the champagne yeast comes through with a sparkly, effervescent quality. There seems to be a bit of yeast, spice, and malt in the background, but the champagne quality is a bit too powerful for my liking; I think some of the complexity of the beer may be masked. Palate is extremely light and dry; a nice change from the thick, sugary beers I am usually drawn to. This is a good saison, but I don’t consider it top notch in the style.
