COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Awesome for a lighter belgian, had all the expected flavors but was a little more drinkable than others in the style. Well done

Bottle from Systembolaget. It poured a hazy yellow golden liquid with a medium sized white head. Very sweet smell of honey, flowers and fruits. Not as sweet taste but besides that similar, also some nectar.

1 pint 9 oz. corked and cage bottle poured into my Ommegang tulip. Nice hazy golden color with an eggshell head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is of lemon grass, earth, and flowers. Taste was great. Ommegang really hit the nail on the head as far as their hop selection with this one. Not overly bitter but nice and dry with some coriander flavor in the middle. Little over carbonated but no big deal. Really enjoyed this one.

750 ml corked and caged bottle. Got this bottle at the Brewery back in Aug. Huge pop and it was a mild, slow gusher. Golden, almost clear pour with white fluffy head. Coats the snifter the sheets of lace. Nose of Earthy hops and light barnyard. Flavor of citrus peel, cloves, moderate spice. Lighter body. Refreshing. Excellent drinkability. Still yet another nice beer from this brewery.

Pours cloudy orange with large pillowy white head, spicy belgian aroma with banans and clove. Taste is slightly spicy with a bit of funk and sourness behind it, its ok but a little bland, I liked fantôme much more, but this is still good.

12oz bottle poured into pilsner glass. Lightly cloudy, pale yellow with copious white head. Fruity (maybe a hint of orange/citrus) with a touch of spice and yeast flavor. Moderately thick mouth feel. Very little aftertaste, just a hint of spice lingers. Delicious. My first saison.

Poured into a tulip. Pours a wonderful hazy gold with a pillowy head. Wonderful head retention. Smell is yeasty with citrus notes and some clove Taste is much like the smell. Very spicy with pear and clove. A tiny touch of sourness on the finish. Nice light carbonation and finishes very crisp and dry. Alcohol is barely detectable. This is a world class beer and one of my favorites.

Another slam dunk by Ommegang. Soft, carbonated, bitter, with a flash of funk indicating the saison. 11/1/2008.
