This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy gold color with a thin white head that lasts. Aroma is similar to a Hefeweizen: a little bready, banana, clove, yeast and a touch of sourness. Medium body, taste echoes the aroma with a bunch of carbonation on the tongue. Finish is slightly tart with some of the yeast coming through. Excellent!

Tap at Whole Foods Omaha location. Pours slightly hazy with lasting white head. Aroma was musty, citrus and yeast. Taste was club soda/champaign mouthfeel with sweet, peppery and tart characteristic. Good.

Poured from a bottle. Pours a bright amber with a large, thick, white foamy head. Very effervescent. Slightly cloudy due to the numerous tiny bubbles. Nice aroma of bready yeast and tart citrus. Semi thick creamy texture. Flavor similar to a Weizenbier. Spicy clove, bready yeast, and tart citrus with a slight bite on the sides of the tongue and roof of the mouth. Crisp and refreshing with just a hint of bitterness and a slightly dry finish. Not my favorite but pretty enjoyable.
