Pours light pilsner-type yellow, with a little haze, under an airy white head. Smell shows slight tartness to my stuffy nose, Taste has a bit of sour lemon and green apple up front, backed by some European hop spiciness. A bit of biscuit dough in the malts. My label lists the abv twice: 7.5% and 8.5%; either way, I don’t really feel the alcohol as I’m drinking it. After pouring, it’s nice and fizzy, but settles down quickly. Yeah, as a matter of fact, its texture is very much like a champagne. Bright tartness and dryness stays with me through the whole bottle. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2008 The beer pours a hazy golden color with a light, lively fluffy head that doesn’t last long. The nose is full of sweet citrus mostly a orange flavor. The beer has a very dry mouth feel that is unexpectedly hoppy. The taste is a mix of yeast and sweet citrus. The beer has nice lasting bitter finish. This is a great example of a Belgium beer done the right way outside of Belgium.
