Commercial Description:
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

I am a huge fan of the Ommegang Brewery, and while this one isn’t bad it isn’t as good as I had hoped it would be. Pours a decent gold with a white head. The first sip is quite pleasant but not as amazing as other brews. I enjoyed this beer and will try it again in the future.

Cloudy Golden color white foamy head. Malty aroma with yeast tones. Nice bubbly feel in mouth like chapagne. Sweet malt taste with slight hints of hops and yeast.

Clove and pear aroma with a chlorophenolic undertone. Sparkling amber, with a huge white head. Alternating flavors of fruit, grain, and phenols. Lemon grass finish. Dry, complex, amd balanced, but slightly tainted. Nicely crafted, but flawed production. Good candidate for a re-rate.

Bottle. Decent big head. Hazy lighter gold. Lots of melon in nose. Tastes funkier and more farmhouse than aroma advertised. Hoppy at first with a melon finish.

Smells sharp and spicey. Pours a very fizzy foamy golden yellow color with a giant white head. Very light and crisp flavor, very fizzy with a hint of that bitter ommegang flavor to it. Very nice and refreshing.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow with about a finger of very quickly dissipating stark white head. A strong odor of citrus and spice. A strong taste of citrus with a bitter aftertaste. Very effervescent, but the taste is a little more bitter than the other saisons I’ve tasted. not quite as good as I had anticipated.

A nice and lively American Saison. Pale Golden body, very clear. Definite candy sugar notes. I’m not totally sure what everyone else is drinking, but there is distinct hoppiness to this. Quite effervescent on the tongue and pleasant hop bitterness all the way through. Would definitely be very nice on a summer day. Oddly, I read the description after my rating and would say that I definitely agree. Very nice rendition.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, golden body with a small, white head. Smell: Aroma of pale malts, candi sugar, spice, some bread dough and a faint, faroff fruitiness. Taste: Light pale maltiness, a touch of soft wheat, and a surprisingly bit candy sweetness - much more than I’m looking for, really. Splash of sweetened peach juice, a squirt of lemon. Hardly any hop flavor or bitterness. Small pinch of spice. Brief hint of metal. Sour yeastiness on the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Drinkability: Argh, I’ve been shot in the face with disappointment.
