blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA Apr 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma is ripe fruit, with notes of peach and yeast. Medium body. Flavor has more of a tart fruit character, with notes of peach and apricot, as well as yeast, bread dough and caramel. juiceisloose (637), Windermere, Florida, USA Apr 9, 2008 This one poured a golden orange color with a thin white head that dissipated quickly. The aroma is of sweet oranges, citrus fruits, and spices. The taste is much the same with the orange and citrus fruit sweetness coming through, but balanced out nicely with the spices. It is medium bodied with a good carbonated mouthfeel that finished with a spicy citrus flavor. This had a good flavor, and is very drinkable and really enjoyable. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 9, 2008 It’s yellow colored, thick foamy white head and sour. Very yeasty and really quite sour. Also has some sweet citrus flavor in there and a touch of hops. Abv is noticed. I’ll have to get this again and re-rate it. austone (999), Turku; Pori, Finland Apr 9, 2008 Light golden, thick rocky head. Spritzy citric nose, yeast and tart wheat. Flavor is wheat & yeast, some fruits & hops. Alcohol shows a bit too much. Medium bodied, strongly carbonated palate. Too alcoholic and clean for the style. MatSciGuy (629), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Apr 8, 2008 [draft] Pours a clear straw gold with a moderate white head. Aroma is a lot of banana, a little bit of yeast, and other fruity smells. Flavor matches the aroma. Very light and refreshing in the mouth and very easy to drink. It just doesn’t have the funkiness of many of the other beers of this style, but it is a great brew nonetheless. gsteph (263), knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 8, 2008 Beautiful hazy golden pour, a little lighter around the edges. Huge white pillowy head. Very effervescent. Nose is inviting. Spring flowers, yeast, cloves, hay and white fruit. Flavors of apples, pears, white grapes, subtle coriander and clove, homemade bread, and splash of lemon perhaps. Very crisp and fresh. Flavor palate, although expressive, is not "in your face", very laid back. Great body and smooth finish. A little more sweet than I was expecting but great nonetheless. TimMoorstein (3), Alexandria, Virginia, USA does not count Apr 6, 2008 My opinion the best Belgian Ale made in the United States. The appearance is a good copper color, the flavor is incredible which will turn your palate upside down, overall fantastic, you won’t mind paying the $12 a bottle or up to $28 at some restaurants. satan165 (541), River Grove, Illinois, USA Apr 5, 2008 Updated: Jun 3, 2009super dry and yeasty, like a saison should be. fruit flavors or hops are not prevelant, only a delicious bread like yeast. amazing that americans can produce such accurate depictions of belgians, great brew!
