roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2009 Pours a cloudy light white yellow color with big white frothy head. Aroma is doughy with a bit of lemon and spice. Flavor is light and crisp, lots of doughy yeastiness as well as the typical banana and lemon notes. Overall, decent, but nothing original or special about it. VitaminR (421), Colorado, USA Aug 17, 2009 Slight lemon clove nose. Golden color and foamy head. Cotton candy bread slight funk, decent bitterness. Big carbonation, medium body, clovy long finish, great alcohol warmth peaking at the end. Great beer, hearty, but very delicate with sophisticated flavors. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA Aug 16, 2009 Pours a nice straw yellow gold with medium white head, minimal lacing, but leaves a creamy ring around the edge of the glass and a decent few white speck floaties throughout. Aroma of yeast, stale bread, slight hops, and clove. Flavor matches well and makes for a nice refreshing saison, but nothing special. Mouthfeel is slightly slick and body is medium to thin. awiseman01 (318), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Aug 16, 2009 Sample on Tap at FFF Brewpub. Pours boring yellow with minimal disappearing white head. Overall dry and crisp. Slightly hoppy, with typical belgian yeast flavor. Not my favorite of the day (that’s why I sampled :) Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Aug 11, 2009 Yellow colored with cloudy appearance vanishing white head. Peppery lemon dominates this aroma, soapy tones also here. Medium bodied, carbonated palate. Flavor is drier with lemon dominating, some spiciness also here. Rich hops also here, which last in aftertaste with dry pepper. grebs (69), Ohio, USA Aug 10, 2009 A beauty of a saison, if only because I haven’t yet fully explored the world of saisons. This one is great. A nice champagne flavor to accompany the citrus and apples. All too drinkable. Perhaps not as nuanced as the best of saisons but I like it for what it is -- a great combination of flavors that don’t grow tiresome. MmmcKay (269), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA Aug 10, 2009 Light gold in color and moderately opaque. Smells like apples, yeast, and sour dough bread. Very nice. Tastes like lemon grass citrus, and a touch of tang. Good balance but looking for just a little more character. Nice mouth feel. Great beer but not quite a classic. tekhna (100), California, USA Aug 9, 2009 This beer never quite does it for me as a saison. Certainly a decent beer, and deserving a better score than I’ve meted out, but it’s not to my taste, and to my mind not to the style. Can be great ice cold though.
