Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Feb 22, 2008 Sampled during Cellar’s Wine & Spirits beer tasting evening in St Paul, Minnesota. From 750 ml bomber pours a semi-hazy golden orange brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that has good retention and some light spotty lacing. Aroma of some fruity character (banana, pears and some apple), spiced herbs, a light yeast funk and a touch of wheat. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of carbonation, with flavors comparable to its aroma but with more multi-grain flavors with light yeast. Finish is semi-sweet, fruity with a dry clove aftertaste that quickly disappears. stoutchap (297), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 21, 2008 Hazy golden pour with a small foamy yellow head. Wheat and banana in the nose. Good carbonation and solid mouthfeel. Tastes like a really solid hefe - wheat, bread, bananas, clove - but a little stronger. Really nice brew. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Feb 21, 2008 Bottle shared by mmtmatrix. Poured a clear golden color with a fluffy white head. Aroma of fruity esters (banana) and yeast. Semi-sweet, spicy, estery flavors including banana and soft citrus fruits contributed to the taste. Just the right amount of carbonation. Refreshing taste, definitely a solid saison. TikiE (360), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Feb 21, 2008 Pours a hazy orange color with a nice full foamy head, that fades to a tasty lacing. Couldnt smell to much because a being sick, but I what I tasted was pretty good. Collint (452), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Feb 21, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poures a huge crazy head. Aroma of fruit. Color is yelowish haze. Awesome carbonation. Taste like a Duvel. Very nice served at 50 Brewer101 (162), New Jersey, USA Feb 21, 2008 good, not great, ommegang. The spice was a little intense at first. A bit too much for my liking, but it grew on me as i drank it. Worth having once and a while EricE (446), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Feb 18, 2008 Updated: Sep 27, 2008Pale yellow-orange pour with a white head. Very cloudy. Clovy aroma with hints of banana and tree fruits. Sweet fruity flavor with lots of yeast. Spicy with cloves and a little sourness. Bitter finish with a surprising hoppiness. Alcohol is hidden well although the label seems to contradict itself as to how much is actually in it. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Feb 18, 2008 750ml corked bottle. Fluffy white head. Had the distinct Belgian fruity, citrus notes. Not wonderful, but not terrible. Probably don’t want more than one at a sitting. I was glad to be splitting the big bottle 3 ways.
