Ommegang Hennepin

Straw yellow with a big uniformly loose head, dying quickly. Lightly sweet, light malt. Dry and sharp fruit. Muscat grapes? Coriander? Orange peel? a little miscellaneous spice. Lemon. Light subtle body. Uniformly creamy with small bubbles and a bit of fizz. Light spicey sweet flavor up front. Light malt. Yeasty flavors about. A bit creamy, but very astringent. Long lingering yeasty dry finish. Too sweet up front, too dry, yeast and spicey later. I just couldn’t take the sickening sweetness with the dry astringency. I was confused by this beer.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. The color is a nice solid gold. The head is white, fluffy and huge like a Duvel. The aroma is full of yeast, clove and fruit. Very scrumptuous. The flavor is robust and fruity. Smooth finish for a crisp clean brew. Excellent.

Draft at Busters in Minneapolis. Hazy golden yellow nice head. Very fruity aroma with a little spice. Taste was sweet and very fruity/bready flavored. I think it was a well crafted beer but not my style.

This beer had a strong malty taste, but it was not overpowering and still maintained a good balance with the hops.

Poured from bottle. Lots of tiny bubbles! Sweet taste of malts, with a very bread like feel as well. Some hints of citrus as well. Good beer!

draft at yard house.. nice banana and spice on the nose. first drink tastes mellow and golden with familiar yeast background. not very carbonated but still a great beer to give a try. I prefer Ommegangs other beers a bit more than this one.

Aroma is nice with notes of yeast and Belgian malt. Hazy pale gold hue and large white head. Flavor is spicy with yeast, citrus, and Belgian malt. Medium light bodied. First Saison but thought it was a Belgian, should try again.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquor - Pours a hazy light golden color with a two finger thick white head. Light lacing. Aroma is lightly spiced and fruity. Flavor is lightly spiced, esters, and light citrus. Palate is slightly tart and crisp. Medium body. An easy drinking beer.
