Ryan82SM (231), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Aug 8, 2009 Aroma had some coriander, banana and tart grapefruit. Appearance was translucent gold, with a frothy head. Flavor had banana, coriander, tart grapefruit and a slight alcohol finish. Palate was creamy. Not my favorite from Ommegang and really seemed more akin to a Whit. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Aug 7, 2009 Pours a fizzy, white head with legs and a cloudy, straw color body. Aromas of zest, grass, and white grape. Flavor is the same. Decent body. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Aug 5, 2009 [Bottle] Pours a darker golden color with a small amount of sediment. Sweet malts and yeast in the aroma. Taste is slightly funky, but with far more citrus. Lemon and crisp grapefruit notes. The alcohol is noticeable. High carbonation. A pretty good beer, but not everything I was looking for in a Saison. ScottyP (314), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA Aug 5, 2009 Pours a slightly cloudy golden with thin white head. Aroma of yeast, banana, spice, lemon zest. Very little funk for a saison. Similar taste with a slight tartness. Very light and crisp finish. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Aug 5, 2009 750ml bottle split with barrios, scottyp, curly, and mmmckay. Pours a wonderful hazy yellow straw with decent bright white head. Lightly bready nose with just the mildest farmhouse funk, and a lemony note. Some floral hops in the flavor add a nice spicy note in the flavor. Moderately high carbonation gives a great chewy body with lots of effervescence. And a lightly bitter chalky lemon rind finish. Very awesome saison. Very refreshing. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 5, 2009 Got this off of a single-bottle rack, and I wonder if it had been there awhile... slight skunk on the nose and a hint of alcohol astringency. Otherwise the aroma is mainly esters and yeast bite. The flavor is definitely belgian, but just not spicey or complex enough for the style methinks. ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA Aug 5, 2009 bottle picked up at metzlers in denton tx. poured yellow with a great white head and excellent lace. aroma was banana, lemon, tart funk, and cheese. flavor was banana, lemon, pepper and a tart funkiness. medium body with high carbonation. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Aug 2, 2009 Had this on tap at The Winking Lizard.Poured golden hay with a frothy white head.A nice spicy and citrus nose.Flavor was crisp, refreshing with hints of spice and citrus.
