Ommegang Hennepin

Spicy and yeasty witbier flavor but with a slightly peppery finish that lingers. Some citrus flavor and fruity aroma. Light bodied and easy to drink.

This is probably the best saison ive had so far. Nice flavor of spices added to the malt

bottle. head for days! hazy golden hue in the trappist glass. typical belgian-style head fades to a thin layer atop the ale. aromas of dried apricots, like the kind in trail mix. also, citrus peels, and orange candy. mouthfeel is refreshingly smooth, with a dose of carbonation, but still a lighter style. smooth flavors hit the palate; candied, flaky fruit. finish is crisp after the smoothness fades. its pretty rockin for a saison. much more sweet than others i’ve enjoyed.

I really liked this one, more than I thought I would. Color is golden hazy. Aroma is sweet, citrusy. Flavor begins light and crisp, with some tartness and fruitiness. Light hop character, some bittersweetness. Flavor finishes incredibly clean and dry with a nice yeasty-bread taste. Very drinkable, very good.

Gold pour with a hefty head that dissipates to leave a white film on top. Sweet fruity aromas. Pleasant wheat flavor with a subtle hop character that finishes somewhat dry. Very good.

Rated while drinking: Pours a cloudy golden color with a head that appears, but disappears. Lots of Belgian yeast elements yell at my nose. Bunch of flavor, mainly bananas and cloves (expected) get their say. Far from watery, this beer comes off thick but leaves medium-bodied and crisp.

12 oz. bottle. Very pale, with lots of effervescents on pour. Sweet, spicy nose, with notes of fresh cut grass and citrus. Starts a bit sweet, but finishes dry, with alcohol well hidden. Another beautiful effort from Ommegang.

pours yellowish abmber with a nice white head. a little cloudy. aroma of spice. flavor has wheat, spice, hops, grass, & a dab of citrus notes. pretty balanced and complex. mouthfeel is light and crisp. goes down smooth! very refreshing. a tasty saison, try it for sure!
