Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy straw color with a soapy white pillowy head. Aroma is nuanced with dry malts, some sweet floral notes, spice and the faintest hints of barnyard funk. Full flavored, mildly bitter, dry biscuity malt body with lemony hints. Rich full feel in the mouth with a crisp finish.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Savvy1982 (1320) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 7, 2011
Bottle, at home. Pours a very slightly hazy golden yellow with a faint green hue. Head is medium to thick, quite persistent, and the lacing is gorgeous. Nose is overripe banana... checking alcohol percentage... ah, 7.7%, that explains it, not my favorite style of Saison, but I digress. Beyond the banana is grass, cold cream, and grass, along with... cat pee? Seriously New Second Sauvignon

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 wedgie9 (1370) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Tasted on 10/6/11 from a 12oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a very thick, rocky white head that slowly recedes to rocky lace, leaving a bit of lace residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is lightly sweet, wheaty malt, with aromas of tart fruit, spicy yeast, and lightly bitter herbal hops. The flavor is also lightly sweet, with a vinous grapey flavor, tart fruits, wheat malt, spicy yeast, and lightly bitter herbal hops. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long, lightly sweet, tart fruit, and lightly bitter herbal hops finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 evanlarkin (145) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 4, 2011
Ported from BA.
Appearance:
In the air it looks almost clear. In the glass it takes on a straw yellow color, with just a slight haze and 1 1/2 finger white head made of big bubbles that fizz down and leave just a slight lacing.
Smell:
Dry and malty, with a lot of belgian yeast scent. Kind of like a dry champagne, except malty instead of grape-y. Slight orange peel quality to it too.
Taste:
Sweeter than the smell had led me to believe, but fairly dry. Orange zest and a few grape-like flavors. Some tangy hop character with low bitterness at the end.
Mouthfeel:
This is a fairly straightforward champagne-bodied beer.
Drinkability:
It’s not bad, reminiscent of other belgian-style ales. I would not call it one of my favorites for the style, but it certainly isn’t bad. I’ll probably have it again in the future.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cirrhosis (887) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 3, 2011
Yellowy bright gold that was crystal clear but i think on the second pour when the mud enters the glass this will go murky, brew also has a big white cap. Wheaty banana sour aroma, very mild. Aroma is not doing it for me. Flavour is nice.......but taste watered down. Wheaty with mild funk some sourness in the finish. Mild lemon some banana. I’m bored but in a yummy way, lets see if things get better now if i pour the sludge in! YES beer now looks sludgy. Aroma got smoother and sweeter almost a vanilla element but not. Flavour mellowed, funk is still there but sour is gone. I’m finding my self trying so very hard to like this beer, I’m trying to convince myself it’s better then what I’m tasting.....sigh.....Groan.....It’s a good brew there’s no denying that but I don’t think its world class.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 benfergy (147) - Valley City, North Dakota, USA - OCT 3, 2011
Pours a very light gold color, with a large head. The aroma resembles bananas to a slight degree, although the banana essence doesn’t overwhelm the yeast and hops. The taste is a great balance of sweet and sour. As I notice the palate, it’s body is modest, and the texture is moderately thick. Good finish. This is a very good beer, don’t get me wrong, but I think my expectations were slightly too high. Still, try it, it’s definitely a good, satisfying beer with plenty of flavor.
