This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Liked it, very smooth, little bitter aftertaste but worth it. Great sit down and relax beer.

Bottle, pours gold with a white head, sweet taste with fruit, malt, and yeast, has a little spiciness to it, more carbonated than I expected but it does not take away from the beer

Pours gold with light lacing. Aroma is wheat, bubblegum, alcohol. Flavor is Big bubblegum upfront, clove, mild banana, some medicinal/herbal stuff, and a bit of astringency. This is not what I think of when I think of saisons, but is good in it’s own right. Must admit, I was thinking of Walt when I drank this, so there’s that.

Very cloudy orange/gold with a three-fonger rocky white head that stuck around a long time and left decent lace. Bright tropical fruit and pepper aroma with bandaid, barnyard, yeast, grain and lots of spice. Mild citrus tartness accompanied by leafy, grassy and earthy flavors, honey and sweetness and a hint of biscuity malt. Light to medium body, lively carbonation, prickly mouthfeel and a dry finish.

750ml poured into a tulip-- This is my first Saison, so here we go. Pours a light golden with a big head. Nice sweet smell. Sweet tasting but not citrusy. Ok, maybe a little citrusy. Bubbly in the mouth with a nice flavor. Turning 18 in the early 80’s with the beers we had to drink, if you had said that I would be drinking something called a Saison and liking it you might have got smacked upside the head. I don’t know if I’ll drink many beers of this style but this is good.

Tasted on tap at Ommegang with ML. Pours hazy golden with a pale head. Aroma is funky yeast, tropical fruit, hay, and cloves. Flavour is banana, orange, coriander, and light hops. Champagne mouthfeel. Awesome saison-style beer.

Bottle. Hazy straw color with a big white head. Aroma is spelt, candi sugar, pear, banana and strong floral notes. Taste follows suit. Surprisingly sweet with a hint of ginger. Spritzy medium mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Pours hazy yellow, nice head, ropey lacing. Aroma of cloves, banana and light malts. Tastes sweet at first and bitter sour in the middle. Medium body and carbonation. Finishes with hints of orange, more clove and bready yeast with a lingering sourness. Very nice.
