Smell is spicy and fruity, and taste is much the same Some understated hoppiness. A little watery on the finish makes this a fairly unsatisfying beer, but you could do worse. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Pours a nice golden color with a sticky, thick, dish soap suds/divinity type of head. The head leaves fantastic lacing with big clumps of head on the sides of the glass. Aroma has a slightly skunky hallertau hops note with a bit of soured fruit and a really nice farm funk. Flavor is fantastic with a great sourness melded very well with a farm funk, light lemon citrus, pils grainy flavors and a light vanilla at the end. The beer feels very smooth with a great density for the style. Overall I love this brew, I wish the funk was just a bit stronger but as a whole the flavors mixed well with the aroma to make a fabulous experience. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 14, 2009 What a fantastic head this one arrived with! At least five-plus fingers worth of fomay white to start off some truly marvelous lacing. The body was a cloudy yellow-orange hue. Aroma was hops and spices, along with some undercurrents of bananas and bread. Taste - very much the same as the nose. Mouthfeel was smooth and pleasing. The finish was satisfying, thick, and sweet without being cloying. Tripplebrew (493), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Pours a hazy golden yellow with thick white head. Aroma is sweet sugar that is balanced with a spicy pepper. Flavor is light caramel/vanilla notes that aren’t over powering because of the tart apple clove offsetting it. Body is light with high carbonation. I really loved this beer and it got me into the Saison style. Aggy360 (115), Anchorage/ Vista,CA, Alaska, USA
