COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Beer No. 57 – Ommegang Hennepin

I keep a bit of everything in the house because you never know when a summer craving will come a little early.

STYLE: Saison / Farmhouse Ale

ABV: 7.7%

LOOK: Less than yellow, refreshing. Ideal one-finger head that doesn’t resist a subtle sip.

NOSE: It won’t shine here. And that’s OK because that rather misses the point. Loafy and dry.

MOUTH: White pepper, nonfat butter, bitter salad greens. It’s not – memorable. On the front, too much rind and not enough zest. On the back, a quiet lagerish coat.

Light straw pour. Burlap, sweet malt, and yeast on the nose. Subtle sweetness, good yeast flavor, and a little nutmeg. Average farmhouse beer.

Slight haze on this beautiful blonde saison topped with a generous thick white head. Some hay and chamomille dominates the aromas, with loads of esters joining the package. Prickly carbonated, estery, a bit of lemon, light bitterness, medium body, finishes just a bit off-dry with some banana in the finish. In betwen a belgian wit and a saison for me. Good stuff.

12 oz bottle poured. A different look for the bottle then most from these guys. Definitely updated recently. Anyway, on to the important part. The beer. Pours a hazy dark orange color with a super clouds like head. Not quite what I expected here. Not a whole lot of aroma. Some sweet orange flavor in there for sure. Not a whole lot of spice. More sweet. Overall, this is a fun beer. Tasty. Has a Belgian side to it for sure. Good stuff.

"spicy and slightly wild smelling and tasting yeastiness. Pretty good balance of malt and hops, although not nearly as hoppy as they want you to beleive. pours a bright hazy yellow. thick white head. refreshing aroma and taste. Pretty good stuff. 5/11 - softer palate, gotta up it a tenth after it kicked butt in a Saison tasting."

This is a refreshing, complex beer. High carbonation with bright citrus followed by a peppery/clove finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It was okay. There is a warning on the side of the bottle warning to not pour to fast due to disturbing the yeast... That's a serious warning, take note! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Cloudy, golden yellow pour with a pillowy white head and good retention. Sweet citrus and candy in both aroma and flavour, with coriander and a bit of zest. Fairly full, rich feel and flavour with just a bit of alcohol warmth. Quite a nice saison.

Troebel geel bier met witte schuimkraag. Geuren van mout. gras, citrus. De smaak is fris en tintelend, smaken van mout, citrus, alcohol. Een verrassend Belgisch smakende saison van deze Amerikaanse brouwer. Heel lekker!

Bottle. Hazy straw coloured pour with a medium fairly dense white head. Wheat aroma with some citrus, herbs. Taste follows but with more fruit flavours, apricot and a light grassy finish. Body is light with a high, almost champagne level of carbonation.
