This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malty with notes of citrus and peaches and a bit of peber. The flavor is sweet with quite strong notes of citrus, then comes notes of dusty hops, saison yeast, honey, and alcohol, leading to a slighlty tart finish where citrusy notes lingers.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Hazy, pale amber golden with a small, off-white head. Rather sophisticated aroma of overripe fruit, sherry and some alcohol. Fairly full-bodied with sweetish, fruity notes, caramel - and perhaps some turpentine (?). Ends quite dry. Quite a refined beer. 290806

Bottled. Hazy yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, yeast, alcohol and some spices. Flavour is very much the same, with the alcohol giving a really sweet sting. Also some toffeeish notes. Strange.

Bottled at Järnet, Stockholm. Hazy golden, fluffy head. Orangey nose. Dry, lively and unexpectedly hoppy. Fresh and minerally with evident yeast character. Long resiy bitter finish. An excellent, elegant beer I would never have guessed being brewed outside Belgium.

12th June 2008. Cloudy orange brown beer. Frothy, soft and with a very dry finish. Slightly fruity undertone biut somewhat overwhelmed by a zingy bitterish malt finish. Okay but too dry.

Cloudy darker blond color with small compact head. The aroma is delicate, light fruity and spicy presence. Good strength, with high carbonation, then enough smooth; some malt/wheat flavor, spices (but also some anise among them, not a favorite one), a touch of oranges; the bitterness is a bit stronger than other beers in the category, while the moderate sweetness reveals the American origin; in the final there are light traces of vegetables, a real turn off although in small doses.
Good but not as elegant.

Hazy golden color. Dry aroma, spicy and with some plastic. Dry flavor too, light saccharin sweetness, a bit of plastic, some citrus fruit, peels. Not so interesting.

2003-07-26, corked bottle, 7.5% ABV, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Golden color; big head. Like a Grand Cru, a wheat character in the aroma and taste. Quite malty.
