750 ml bottle, from the 2003 Cave Aged release. Pours a clear light golden colored body under a two finger creamy white head with decent retention. Aroma is lightly tart yet sugary sweet at the same time. Lots of crisp wheat and a little of the farmhouse funk. Flavor is fairly subtle, some wheat, light hoppiness, and again a light tartness and risidual sugars on the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly thin with alot of active fizzy carbonation. Pretty refreshing. Overall, pretty enjoyable, but I’m not the biggest fan of Saisons. I can appreciate them, yet my among my favorites.

Wow, what a beautiful beer. Nice golden colour with a slight haziness. Aroma is spicey and fruity, with a bit of earthiness in the background. Full and robust flavour with notes of citrus, corriander, yeast and tongue-tingling hops. Yowza!

Slightly hazy golden colour with a little hint of orange. A very large bubbled white head which fades fast. Small bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass very often, which makes it look like a fine champagne. A definate yeasty smell, with not much else in the nose. A good medium bodied taste with noticable hoppyness. A good all-around beer, with some malt in the aftertaste. Definately worth a taste if you can get your hands on a bottle. Its a cheap beer up in the Northeast, so definately go for the deal!

Olney Beer & Fine Wine tasting. Cloudy golden honey in the glass. Nice yeast, funky nose; lemons and coriander. Carbonation on the tongue, nicely-balanced, light and crips, yeast, lemons, and minerals. Short, clean finish.

12oz bottle pours golden cloudy with a big white head that stays well and laces the glass. Good aromas of floral hops over dough. Flavor is dough, some spice, lots of earthy notes. Carbonation is good and the palate is crisp and clean on this brew. Pretty enjoyable..

750ml bottle: Pours a hazy dark yellow with a persistant rocky white head that leaves good lacing, aroma has hay, lemon, pepper, earthiness and dust. Starts and ends sweet with a lingering spice and lemon on the tongue. Full bodied with zesty carbonation. Old rating: A decent beer, but Ommegang makes better Belgian ales. I think I will wait six months to try my other bottle to see if it improves with age. <months later> It still tastes the same to me. It goes well with cheese and beef, but I didn’t like it as much by itself.

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with hints of yellow; white head with clinging lace. Zesty lemon and floral hops dominate the nose. Flavor falls short, with flat hops and a tinge of weak lemon. Average mouthfeel. Not bad, but could be much better.

Pours a hazy orange tinted straw yellow color, that is topped by a frothy large bubbled head that starts out a good 4 inches thick. The aroma is spritzy with notes of lemon, coriander, ginger, slight herbalness, a certain damp wood-like mustiness. The aroma is quite light and appetizing, and has a nice level of complexity to it.

The taste is lightly sweet up front through the middle, but then becomes quite dry in the finish. This is nice and spicy with competing notes of pepper, ginger, lemon zest, coriander. This beer has a nice soft sweet grain character which mixes quite well with, and in fact even accentuates, the refreshing, cool citrus notes. This beer is very good, it is just about the perfect beer to sit down and enjoy over an evening. The one flaw is that it is perhaps a little to thick in the body, don’t get me wrong, it is by no means thick, it is just that I like my farmhouse ales with a nice dry, light palate. I had forgotton how tasty this beer was, and at $3.00 for a 750ml it is a steal.
