This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Bottle at Flatbread: Sweet funky aroma with an abundant white head and light golden color. Carbonation dissipates quickly in the mouth leaving a spicey earthy flavor. All in all a pleasant beer.

Pours a nice cloudy blonde with soapy white head, dissipates but with good lacing. Bright hoppy aroma, citrus, grass - carries over into the flavor with a nice bready character. Decent mouthfeel, could be a tad thicker for me, nice lingering tastes though.

Slightly hazy and light golden pour into a tulip glass. Full tall white head, which does not dissipate. Citrus, fruit, high yeast aromas with a touch of spice. Refreshing burst of innitial flavor of bisquit, citrus, less yeast than aroma but there, malt, creamy caramel elements, maybe some dark cherry and red curent as well. Light to medium mouthfeel which finishes crisp and dry. Refreshing, flavorfull, complex, GREAT.

All things considered, a pretty remarkable saison. Strikes that perfect balance of spice and refreshing effervescence. Its so light and drinkable with a real interesting kick on the finish - Id call this a staple.

750 mL corked bottle. Pours hazy golden with beautiful, thick, fluffy white head that lasts and lasts. Aroma is yeast and floral hops. Flavor is yeasty, lemony, and grassy with long profile. Mouthfeel is interesting, not a bad thing, but very unique. Lots of carbonation, but thick enough not to be fizzy or harsh. Good stuff.

Bottle, 12 oz. Slightly cloudy golden color with a huge white head. Aroma of hops and barnyard. Dry finish. Nice saison.

This is an extremely good beer, golden colored, some citrus, lemon, and spices, with a lot of carbonation. The blend of flavors is subtle and complex. This is the kind of beer that will make someone a beer drinker. In fact, it did just that when I shared it with a friend of mine. I am going to get some more of this and introduce it to some others too.

I am shocked that I have not reviewed this to date. A wonderful saison style beer from Ommegang. Straw yellow with a slight bit of haze (from the bottle conditioning?) with a great aroma of yeast esters, spices (white pepper? gop?). The taste is spicy with esters and some sweetness for balance. High carbonation and nice frothy head. Overall a very enjoyable saison.

A very tasty brew. Nice aroma of spices with a hint of banana as well as a slightly cheese-like aroma, slightly barnyard. As it warms and swirled it picks up a bit of alcohol aroma. Amazing level of carbonation of this brew. The carbonation on this is ridiculous. Even a gentle pour gives a billowing, rocky head that sticks forever on the glass. The flavor is more fruity and banana like with a hint of spiciness, to me almost the reverse of the aroma. definitely definitely definitely better when its had time to warm up. Looking forward to having this one again
