COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2013 Hennepin is my everyday favorite from Ommegang. Itís a lighthearted, somewhat prickly farmhouse saison. Pours a cloudy straw yellow with a great big head that lasts. Laces well. The citrus is not as prominent as some saisons but itís there, and itís not sour. Earthy flavors lend balance to the forwardly floral hops. The malt exudes a tender sweetness thatís somehow masculine. A great saison, easy to drink, mellow, a little peppery. Mouthfeel is crisp and light. In the glass this beer is equitable and upright. Bravo!

Cloudy yellow gold color. Lots of head. Straw scent, notes of banana. Citrus, banana, and bread taste . Also some nice notes of spice. Smooth mouth feel and not any bitter aftertaste

Malty aroma with floral and woody hints. Cloudy light yellow color with a thicker, pillowy head. Goes down like a wheat beer, but without any of the dry feeling, nice and light. Average carbonation with fruity notes. An excellent choice to be had outside on a warm evening.

Pours a cloudy gold with a foamy white head and lots of lacing. It has a spicy aroma with lots of biscuit and sweet malt. The flavor is spices and biscuit up front with a spicy, dry finish and lots of carbonation over a medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours pale hazy yellow. Decent head, good amount of carbonation. Taste crisp? saison tasting. Decent amount of spice, maybe alittle too much. A decent beer. Had from a bottle.

Pours a hazy golden body with a thin head. Faint funky aroma. Well balanced taste with hayish tones. Well done saison.

Pours to a golden hazy yellow with small head. Hops and spice are very present without overpowering the yeast flavor.

Bottle: poured a hazy golden color with a nice airy white laced head. Aroma had nice belgium phenols complemented by pear and sour apple. Nice complex taste alot of nice peppery notes, the grains of paradise were present but not to overpowering. Didnít get much ginger but overall it was a please beer!

APPEARANCE - A bit opaque, 2-finger head that dissipates, light. No lacing. AROMA/SCENT - Hops, fruit. TASTE - Hops, malts, bitter, nutty, pine. MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Good carbonation, dry, clean, light, effervescent, crisp, refreshing. VALUE - $9.99 for an 25 oz. bottle - good buy. OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Label indicates coriander, ginger, and orange peel, but the flavorings are very mild.
