Very strong clove aroma, slightly fruity. Slightly cloudy yellow color. Very nice sweet, fruity clove taste. Very crisp finish.

The aroma was earthy and spicy with a undercurrent of sweet malt. The fruity and earthy aroma with that Belgian yeast peppery spice was well achieved. The beer poured into the glass clear pale golden straw with an off-white moussy tall everlasting head which laced the glass from top to bottom. The flavor was nicely peppery with an undercurrent of sweetness that was trounced by the level of bittering and the peppery spice. The flavor was fruity with a light crisp apple presence and a substantial earthy hop flavor. The finish was dry with lasting light pepper into the aftertaste. The body was medium with a high level of carbonation and a creamy bubbly texture on the palate. A nice beer with some pretty evident warming post consumption. 750 ml corked and bailed bottle. Product of Belgium.

Hazy golden pour with a small foamy yellow head. Wheat and banana in the nose. Good carbonation and solid mouthfeel. Tastes like a really solid hefe - wheat, bread, bananas, clove - but a little stronger. Really nice brew.

My first saison, and a rather nice experience. Pours a brilliant yellow with a delicate, frothy head. Champange-like carbonation rising straight up the glass, and intense lacing make this beer rather beautiful. Aroma is a delicate floral hop aroma, kind of witbeer-ish. Taste hits very yeasty up front, spicy all the way through, with a strong alcohol kick and some nice mid breadiness, and the palate couldn’t be better. I poured this in the wrong glass though. Should’ve used my giganto-head accomidating Piraat tulip!

12 oz Bottle. Had this at an Allman Bros concert once--I can say that it pairs very well with fungus if that is your thing. Always loved this beer--one of my favorites from Ommegang. Pours a light blond with a thick white head. Very fruity, funky, and yeasty nose. Taste is similar to nose, with a bit of lemon, hops, and more yeast left on the palate. Well balanced and drinkable with just a hint of alcohol on the palate. I love that these still cost only $6 for a big 750 bottle. One of the best deals in the American based belgian style beer world.

Feb 18 2008. Wow. What a difference eight months make. A massively improved beer. Much more brett funk and more balanced spice. No funk on the finish and the wheat is more balanced with age.

Massive head, pale yellow color. Sweet wheat taste, similar to the wheat nose. Not bad but kind of bland compared to other saisons that I’ve been drinking lately.

Poured a hazy yellow with a big frothy white head that lasted a long, long time, leaving a lot of noticeable lacing in its’ wake. Fully of taste with citrus, yeast, and spice notes that make you wish the bottle would never end. An excellent beer from an excellent brewery, no wonder this brew is cousin of the Tripel. LC - CP

Pours orange-yellow with a thick, bright white head. Aromas of yeast and a little citrus. Slight citrus flavor with some apple as well. Also some spice. Finish is funky and yeasty. Nice beer.
