Commercial Description:
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Mostly opaque with a milky-orange glow. Clean, yeasty nose. Tingly, cloud-like carbonation; somewhat lightish on the tongue. Although, down "below," a silky-smooth malt texture coated my tongue here and there. Moderate flavors of orange, alcohol, yeast, and Oatmeal curiously enough. Overall, flavors mingled well, and nothing really overpowered anything else. Probably my favorite Ommegang brew.

A crisp, bright ale with a flavor of honey, hops and four leaf clovers. A tad too doughy.

Bottle. Golden amber beer with a good off-white head. Yeasty, spicey aroma. Fruity (orange-passionfruit), yeasty flavors with good depth.

Corked 750 ml bottle. Pours light pilsner-type yellow, with a little haze, under an airy white head. Smell shows slight tartness to my stuffy nose, Taste has a bit of sour lemon and green apple up front, backed by some European hop spiciness. A bit of biscuit dough in the malts. My label lists the abv twice: 7.5% and 8.5%; either way, I don’t really feel the alcohol as I’m drinking it. After pouring, it’s nice and fizzy, but settles down quickly. Yeah, as a matter of fact, its texture is very much like a champagne. Bright tartness and dryness stays with me through the whole bottle.

Bottle, tasted in a Duvel snifter: Beautiful golden hue with a forever lasting head and outstanding lace. The aroma has notes of dusty and barnyard yeast esters, apricots, pear, aromatic hops, and sublime spice. The taste starts tangy and fruity with a lot of yeast notes throughout. Get some light almost woody characteristics midpoint followed by a bite of bitters and alcohol. Finishes with some spice and wheaty notes. The feel is lively and crisp, but lacks the depth of the great Fantôme or Pizza Port saisons. Overall it’s a good beer that does fit the style, worthy of a try. (I have had this beer many times, not much change year to year, which is a good thing)

12 oz. bottle. Poured cloudy and the color of ripe apricots. Nice white head that dissipated to a thin creamy layer that lasted and lasted. Aroma is fruity, spicy and yeasty - orange, peach, cardamom and hops. Delicious maltiness with lots of fruit, citrus hops and sharp spiciness that lingers in the finish. Medium body with pleasant carbonation. I find that I'm getting more fond of Belgians with each one I drink.

12oz bottle. Pours a lovely cloudy medium gold with a spicy nose. The taste is correspondingly spicy, and very crisp on the tongue. The flavour is quite nice and has some hints of a wheat beer. I think its own description is selling itself short by claiming it to be a "light on the tongue" finish, as I feel it’s rather a full flavour. I like this one.

My first saison, and I’m very impressed. Great beer. Took about 10 minutes to fully pour this beer. A light, hazy orange/golden appearance with a huge cream colored head. Good lacing. Aroma was very yeasty, with slight alcohol and fruits. Flavor kinda bursted out. Tasted of oranges, yeast, hops. Good mouthfeel.
