This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Bottle after all these years. Dusty nose of yeast and autumnal leaf dust, sweet honey and floral notes. Pours lightly hazy golden with a rocky, pillowy white head. Taste is dry with some alcohol seeping through, heavy focus on the yeast with a little bit of rubber hose, but not as much as the honey or rose hips. Really nice floral overtones without the sweetness, wild and rustic tasting. Medium-full with perfect carbonation. Classy, does all the little things right, and it’s a happy thing that not all of this type need be overburdened by hops and caramel malt.

7/13/2011 1:18:10 PM Bottle at Le Monde, NYC. Golden body with huge head. Nose of malts and spices. Taste is malty, sour, quite enjoyable. Texture a bit rough. Pretty good.

Só me recordo das notas, os detalhes ficarão para uma nova degustação. Mas posso dizer que é uma ótima Saison, com boa presença de lúpulo, frutas e ervas.

This is one of my favorite styles right now and it's from a great brewery. Nice grassy straw aroma and great flavor. This beer is awesome. I'll be buying this again for sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy orange with white. Medium body. One of my favorite saisons so far. Sweet fruits, floral spices, Belgian qualities, bready, slight hop flavor. Very sweet and light, really great.

I introduced myself to Ommegang's Hennepin after trying their Game Of Thrones, Iron Throne and was pleasantly surprised at how refreshing it was.

A fantastic beer. Hazy golden appearance with a thick white head. Aroma is citrus, especially lemon, spice, taste is citrus with a slight lemon sweetness, mild hops, champagne like finish. Crisp, refreshing, and flavorful. Excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy gold color. Very high carbonation. Aromas of hay, cow manure, and bananas. Has a sharp phenolic taste. Citrus peel as well perhaps? It was quite good, but not equal to its reputation.

355ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a huge, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces. Fruity, hoppy aroma with citrus, yeast, coriander and alcohol. Sweet, hoppy, citrus flavour of orange peel with yeast, coriander, honey and a hint of alcohol, ending on a slightly tart, dry, bitter note. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

One of those bottles I’ve passed by on the shelf so many times. First go at a saison with this one. Pours golden with lasting, dense white top. Aromas of fruit, spice, and lemon. Similar in flavor, but with more of the witbier character. I’ve enjoyed better wheats, so while this is good, and tasty, and great looking.... it doesn’t strike me as outstanding.
