COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Bottle after all these years. Dusty nose of yeast and autumnal leaf dust, sweet honey and floral notes. Pours lightly hazy golden with a rocky, pillowy white head. Taste is dry with some alcohol seeping through, heavy focus on the yeast with a little bit of rubber hose, but not as much as the honey or rose hips. Really nice floral overtones without the sweetness, wild and rustic tasting. Medium-full with perfect carbonation. Classy, does all the little things right, and itís a happy thing that not all of this type need be overburdened by hops and caramel malt.

12 oz bottle. Poured an unfiltered golden with a frothy white top and some lacing. Taste of coriander, tropical fruits, citrus, Belgian yeast, and spice. Medium carbonation, medium body.

Pours a yellow hue with a foamy white head. Aroma is citrus, yeast, and some farmhouse funk. Flavor is slightly sour lemon, spices, and yeast, with a sweet finish. Delicious.

On tap at Dexters, pours a clear yellow with a thick white head and lacing, aroma had a small amount of farm to it with some citrus and hops too, flavor has clean and crisp with a hop like finish, good.

Belgian yeasty, vanilla, a bit sweet, and nearly goddamn perfect. Mind you I just ran a half marathon, so most swill would taste awesome at this point

Refreshing and easy drinking saison with a deceptively stout ABV, but no arguments here. Good balance.

I realized the other day I hadnít rated this beer. Which is nuts because itís one of my absolute everyday favourites (not that I can get it in Ontario anymore. Thanks LCBO, you suck.) So I figured Iíd hit 100 with a great beer. Pours a cloudy golden, with a couple foamy fingers of white head, that settles down to a thick sheet with lacing. Itís the smell of this beer that gets it all going. Itís that lovely Belgian yeast that Ommegang seems to have as itís hallmark. Itís lemon and bread and cereal. Mmmmm. The taste isnít overwhelming, yet full of flavour. Yeasty, citrus, coriander with a mild spicy/acidic bit in there. Really, really well-crafted beer.

@ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear deep gold color, foamy head that stops when it drops to 1" and stays there; sheets of lace that slowly drop back into the drink. Taste is wheaty malt with light effervescence that gives it a delicate air. It grows smoothly through the palate, finishing with a bit of spice and a bitter edge that is mostly carbonation. Very enjoyable, a fine example of the style.

I wasnít blown away at the opening, but I like the crispness the beer has. The color was gold like the description and it was a pretty classy Belgian Saison.
