This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

draft at yard house.. nice banana and spice on the nose. first drink tastes mellow and golden with familiar yeast background. not very carbonated but still a great beer to give a try. I prefer Ommegangs other beers a bit more than this one.

750 mL bottle. Pours a pale, straw yellow, fluffy white head with nice retention, some floaties. Nose is grassy, some funk, a tad skunky. Mouth is medium bodied, creamy, mild sweetness, lemon zest, bread dough, coriander, grassy, touch metallic (which I also got in the last Ommegang beer I had recently too...). Iíll give them a pass on the skunk, as itís not their fault the douche-bags at the Jewel donít understand storing anything about stocking beer other than Old Style and Busch (and itís as much my fault in that regard for buying craft beer at the Jewel in the first place), but based solely on my previous experiences with other Ommegang beers, overall this one is just another example from of what I find to be an underwhelming brewery.

Clear straw yellow with mountainous head. Fresh bread, lemon, hay. Bright citrus with earthy, slightly bitter funk throughout. Very bubbly - champagne-like as they say. Clean, dry, bitter finish. Enjoyable

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a big white lasting head that leaves good lacing. Disappointingly weak aroma of clove, lemon and orange peel. Big flavors of coriander, lemon, clove and butterscotch, medium body, average carbo, medium bitter and light to medium sour and a very very long finish. Great complexity. Very nicely done.

Ommegang brews some of the best Belgian style beers in the US. They all have so much flavor and are so well brewed. This is probably my second favorite of theirs. Tons of banana, citrus and sweet aromas. Taste is more of that banana, lemon and spice. Theres a nice sweetness from the yeast. Overall a superb beer. So much flavor and complexity. Definitely try this if you havent. Cheers!

Very floral aroma to the beer. Tasted of citrus fruits as well as having an earthy funkiness to it. I never had a beer like this. Very interesting and enjoyable.

From 750ml, corked, part of 3 bottle boxed set

Aroma: floral, citrus, vanilla

Appearance: Golden color, hazy, white head, with sediment

Taste: Medium bitter

Palate: Light to medium body, lively carbonation, crisp dry finish

Overall: Very effervescence, nice and dry/crisp finish. Hoppy and bitter, but not overly done. Subtle citrus and other spices. Lots of sediment. One of my favorite "go to" saisons. Easy to find, easy to drink.

Pale golden, highly carbonated pilsner pour with a beautiful, creamy white head. Spicy, fruity & very dry palate & flavor. Finishes slightly bitter, lemony & dry. Very well hidden 7.7% ABV in this one.

Cloudy yellow gold color. Lots of head. Straw scent, notes of banana. Citrus, banana, and bread taste . Also some nice notes of spice. Smooth mouth feel and not any bitter aftertaste

Malty aroma with floral and woody hints. Cloudy light yellow color with a thicker, pillowy head. Goes down like a wheat beer, but without any of the dry feeling, nice and light. Average carbonation with fruity notes. An excellent choice to be had outside on a warm evening.
