COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop House pays homage to the historic hop farm that stood on the brewery grounds over 100 years ago. Hop House combines the delicious aromas and flavors of a Belgian-style ale with generous hopping, including dry-hopping. A well-balanced, yet ample, hop character defines this fine pale ale, bringing Belgian-style beer lovers and hop-heads together to enjoy our Belgian-American love child.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden with an extremely frothy white head. Decent beer for the style though I find the hybrid to be less enjoyable than a pure IPA or a straight Belgian ale. It definitely has some great hop notes similar to a Californian IPA but then the yeasty Belgian notes show up and throw my taste buds into confusion.

Hop House is a heavily hopped Belgian/IPA hybrid. Itís as sweet as a Belgian and as hoppy as an IPA, and there are many beers like it. Which is fine, because itís a good style, and this is a good example of it. It pours pale orange, the head is average, the aroma is floral hops. The flavor has a mildly fruity, dry white wine kind of quality. There is a rush of hoppy burn at the end.

12 oz. bottle from Bottled. Aroma: Light musty lemon; slight gum; moderate grapefruit; light spiciness. Appearance: Opaque rich gold (w/yeast) with a frothy white head that maintains a whipped cap. Flavor: Moderate citrus and semi-sweet up front; really dries out with some light lemon and spiciness towards the finish, which has a pleasant bitterness. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Really nice stuff; well conceived and executed.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into nucleated schooner glass, a hazy light golden amber colour with white foam and lace. Light body, highly-attenuated, leaving almost no grainbill complexity, emphasis on fruity hops and spicy Belgian yeast. Black pepper, clove, banana, leaf compost, wildflower honey, grapefruit, cedar. Spritzy carbonation, nice smooth alcoholic strength, bone dry finish with slightly hoppy and spicy aftertaste. A hoppier Belgian pale ale, reminiscent of New Belgium Long Table Farmhouse Ale or Perennial Hommel Bier. An easy-drinking summer beer with more complexity than most, but nothing spectacular especially for its high price. Good not great.

Bottle. Not sure what makes this a Belgian anything... tastes like an average Pale Ale, with no trace of the signature yeasty funk I expect from any beer style with the word íBelgianí in it (Ommegang just trying to cash in on the hop rage after all these years). Fuckin lame.

Bottle, at the Corner Foodery, Philadelphia. A creamy, off-white head forms over a hazy, orange colored body, releasing aromas of oranges, zest mostly, some Belgian yeastyness and a spiced touch. Nice bitterness in the flavor, not too sweet, with citrus zest and some sweetish malts. Itís full-bodied, smooth and with a nice carbonation. Rather dry. Long belgo finish with oranges and a decent bitterness. Nice indeed. 150622

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a large fluffy white head. Aromas of sweet malt and loads of citrus hops. Flavors are citrus, cut grass, biscuit and herbal hop notes. Clean, citrusy finish with a balanced hop bite. Very refreshing. Nicely done!

Bottle from Buffalo NY. Fat fluffy head w/citrus hop aroma. If this was a blind taste test Iíd say "A very nice IPA." Very drinkable & tasty.
