Hop House pays homage to the historic hop farm that stood on the brewery grounds over 100 years ago. Hop House combines the delicious aromas and flavors of a Belgian-style ale with generous hopping, including dry-hopping. A well-balanced, yet ample, hop character defines this fine pale ale, bringing Belgian-style beer lovers and hop-heads together to enjoy our Belgian-American love child.

Pours a huge thick foamy head. It is as advertised, Belgian spices/yeast flavor meets a east coast IPA. Very hoppy with out being to bitter.

A bottle at Christmas. Straw-colored with a creamy white head and nice lacing. Good dose of hop flavor and that tang of a belgian yeast--I like both qualities but they don’t quite fully come together to me. Good not great.

12 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Pours a hazed gold, somewhat yellowed and dulled, with a huge, foamy off-white head that takes a while to settle and leaves a crater at the top. Really nice balance between the Belgian characteristics and abundant hops - big florals, citrus peel, a bit of soap, bread, straw, grass, and fruity esters. Light-medium bodied, with soft moderate carbonation and a bitter, bready mouthfeel that leaves lingering bitterness behind. Lovely.

Interesting hop character. Spicy, plenty of pepper and belgian yeast, but the bitterness hits you quick and lingers.

A really fantastic, bold beer. Hums with tropical fruity qualities in the nose, and a spicy yeast character. Aggressively hoppy, modestly bitter, in a similar vein to a Rayon Vert or Orval but since it’s not brett-fermented (or at least not designed to be as aggressively bretty as those beers) it’s its own thing. Really delicious.

A great example of super well managed hops. Fresh, touches of sweetness early before getting quite tight and firm on the finish. Very herbal and clean with wonderful cut.

Foamy head. Dark orange color. Thin front with a nice body of citrus and yeast. Sharp peppery end. Nice overall.

Nice deep orange color with a small frothy head. Sweet yeast nose... Hoppy crisp taste but thin bodied. Building up a bit with an orange peel aftertaste.

On tap, poured into a snifter. The aromas are sweet and floral with citrus notes of tangerine and grapefruit along with a touch of banana and a bit of dry clove-like spice. The beer is a hazy gold-yellow with a soapy white head. A medium ring is retained with a fluffy island and decent lacing along the glass. The taste is a medium sweet and medium-light, mellow bitter. There’s a fuzzy, soft carbonation to this medium-bodied, thin textured beer. Citrus and bread fill the flavor profile with a light, zesty and grassy finish. It’s clean with a bready aftertaste.

Bottle from ABC. Pours a hazy/murky gold with a medium head that slowly dissipates, though not entirely. Very noticeable particles. Not much lacing to speak of. Aroma is surprisingly fruity; mostly lemon, hints of yeast. Taste is rather sweet, somewhat dry on the finish. Light bodied and overall refreshing. Acquire. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Holy lemon. Tons of lemon dominate the aroma. It’s so fresh smelling. The color is hazy and gorgeous. The taste is just so good. So much citrus, sweet belgian yeast, and hops. So much flavor. I have been very skeptical about Ommegang beers but this one is so solid I will definitely be trying more.
