Collaboration with HBO for the Game of Thrones series.

Blonde ale with malty sweetness and a touch of fruity spiciness, Noble Hops aromas and notes of citrus. Suitable to serve to kings, or pretenders to the iron throne.

Pour slowly so as to not disturb the yeast sediment, but with enough vigor to create a luxurious head and release the rich bouquet.

On tap @ Rattle N Hum NYC. A cloudy deep golden beer with a small but really lacing off-white top. The nose is not to extreme but I get tones of Belgian yeast, a little bit of acebo, lots of dried orange zest and a little bit of wheat. Nice, not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Game of Thrones, but nice. Yeah, it has a mild Belgian yeasty flavor with a little bit of white candied sugar and more light herbal hints. The mouthfeel is light oily and the carbonation level is list above average. A little bit of bittering soap, some soft hoppy tones and it’s leaving a mild dry tongue with a little lime-acidity in my mouth. Probably won’t go back for seconds (don’t thin I would do that for any beer right about now) but it’s a absolutely decent thing this. 11.06.2013

Bottle. Pours a clear, glowing gold with a high, lacy, rocky white head; a LOT of foam on this one, and it doesn’t go away very fast. Nose is biscuity and dry with overtones of phenols, nutmeg, and tart fruit. Nutty on the tongue, with an undertone of dry acidity and a spicy astringency. Mouthfeel is, as a counterpoint, round and silky. Good, and definitely suitable for serving to the next dead king, whoever he is.

Bottle. Pours a golden body with frothy white lacing. Aroma is belgian candy, malt, spice and sugary booze. Mouthfeel is slick with notes of yeast, sweet candy malt, alcohol sting, clove, spice and a bitter floral character.

Pours a solid straw gold with a big white foamy cap. The aroma is lemon, grain, wet grass, wet dog, and urinal. . . it’s as unappealing as it sounds. The flavour is sweet upfront, then grainy, bread, honey, bit of lemon, finishes lightly sweet and bready with a lingering note of honey. It would be a decent offering if I could only get around the aroma.

2013-11-29. Hazy dark yellow body with a nice foamy white head. Aroma has mild musty overtones and pale malt. Flavour is lightly tart, with mild lemony touches, mild pale malt core. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto

750 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours hazy golden with a moderate white head that remains and leaves a minimal amount of lace. The nose has prominent grain, piney hops and Belgian spice, along with honey and pale malts. The flavour is balanced between moderately sweet pale malts, honey, citrus and grains on one hand and moderate piney bitterness with peppery spice on the other. The finish is long and hop-predominant, with subtle peppery spice and a hint of honey sweetness. On the palate it is medium in body with a dryish texture and lively carbonation. Overall this is a nice Belgian style blonde ale. It is fairly complex for the ABV and quite well made. A joy to drink. 2013-09-28
