Commercial Description:
Belgian pale & pilsner malts w/ Styrian Golding for bittering and Saaz for aroma. Ginger predominates the spicing. Fermented in primary with Ommegang's house yeast, followed by secondary with Brettanomyces bruxellensis. Dry-hopped in secondary w/ a blend of hops; Tettnang being the stand-out. The flavor profile is very herbal with an earthy undertone (very fitting for a Belgian-style farmhouse ale). The dry finish and pronounced hop aromas hide the 8% abv very well. Dangerously drinkable for its strength and character.

Really complex, lots of flavors, tastes a lot "darker" than it looks. Nice heavy mouthfeel too, and packs a punch

Pours hazy golden with a fully receding off-white head. Aroma of pears, peach, orange peel, herbs and spice. Tastes of funky sour orange, bitter herbs, and fruity acidity. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Quite enjoyable, but I was really expecting a bit more sourness with a name like Ommegeddon.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear golden yellow with a large lasting creamy white head. Aromas of citrus, barnyard, straw, earthiness and light leather. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a lightly dry finish. Flavors of citrus, earthiness, barnyard, straw, light pine and a hint of leather with a smooth dry lightly tart lingering bitter finish.

Sampled more than one time at GABF 08, cloudy golden hue, with a frothy white head, yeasty, funky bretty, citrusy nose of lemon acidic sourness, with some hints of barnyard, horeseblanket, with a floral hop peachy, grassy, spicy saison type, with a green apple tart aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, funky, lemony character, with some honeyed pale malt accents, with a hint of citrus mustiness, flowery hop grassy spicy note, leading towards a fruity, sour, acidic lemony finish.

Pours clear yellow with a frothy white head. Dank, yeasty aroma with overripe oranges and earth. Taste was hoppy and sweet with the barnyard funk. Blood-orange sweetness in the hops worked well with the earthiness of the yeast. Very nice beer, but it does pack a brutal hangover.
