IPAaLLtHEwAY (136), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Aug 19, 2008 Cloudy, hazy amber. Smell of lemons, malt, clove, cinnamon, caramel, flowers, ginger, yeast, pepper and citrus. Tastes the same. Crisp and refreshing. Good but I wouldn’t pay $11 for it. joebudzjoe (223), Connecticut, USA Aug 16, 2008 After unscrewing the bottle I quickly experienced the aroma while the cork exploded off the bottle unexpectedly and brew bubbled off onto the counter. Sniffing the spill, a strong spicy pear smell with wheat. Finally getting to pour, the cloudy burnt orange tan color under a fizzy white head. I really like the sweet malty and spicy tang of the aftertaste. CapnCascade (116), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 14, 2008 Pours hazy golden, full white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is fruity and spicy with notes of wood and a hint of must or barnyard. Flavor is surprisingly sweet, an almost apple juice-like flavor dominates at first, developing Brett and hops on the finish. Mouthfeel is relatively rich with fair carbo. I would have liked something a little dryer for a Saison, this was on the sweet side. Interesting though. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 12, 2008 Pours a dark, cloudy orangeish colour with a large white head with great retention. Masterpiece lacing left on the glass, aroma is wheaty, tart and full of fresh fruit. Fresh off the vine green grapes, tart with lively citrus impression. Spice evident right off the bat, Quick, tight hoppy bite on your palate. Finish is strong of pepper, cloves and ginger. DasGrau (18), Topeka, Kansas, USA Aug 12, 2008 pours a nice cloudy gold with a big head that dissipates pretty quick like. Very spicy! It has a almost like liquorice taste and after you swallow it you get a nice citrus aftertaste. Nice and hoppy like I enjoy. Maybe a few too many extra flavors for me but good stuff. Aquilo (249), California, USA Aug 12, 2008 A cloudy golden yellow with a thick head. Lovely color, especially for style. Smell is floral with some hay and a little fruity sweetness as well. Pears, I think. Flavor is less distinct. There is some herbs and spice. Grapes. Kinda has a white wine thing going on. Bubbly finish. This one is quite pleasant. zombywoof (355), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Aug 10, 2008 Puffy white head and hazy gold color. Perfume like aroma with apricot and herbs. Dry astringent quality with apricot, wood, floral notes and sour apple. Nice lingering finish. Refreshing. emerson430 (87), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Aug 6, 2008 Funk, Funk, and more Funk. I love most Brett infected beers and this one is no exception. More funk than the Hennepin but less than the Jolly Pumpkin family of beers. The aroma is astounding and the punch in the face that the Brett lends is wonderful, if that is your thing. If not, beware!
