More funk than the Hennepin but less than the Jolly Pumpkin family of beers. The aroma is astounding and the punch in the face that the Brett lends is wonderful, if that is your thing. If not, beware! DarkBeer (47), Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Wow. Very funky, indeed. Ommegang is easily my favorite American brewery, so I popped the cork on this one with high expectations. I was not disappointed. My bottles came from Batch 2, March 2008. Pours lovely cloudy gold, nice head. Aroma is citrus and yeast. Body has a lot of bite to it, feels wonderful in the mouth. A bit tart. It likes to be cold. I have more, and can’t wait to pop open another. mmmbeer (744), Austin, Texas, USA

Hits the mouth with a thin body, spice like feel hits you in the middle, finish is much like a dry wine. Interesting brew that kicked off the sampling. grimreeser (796), Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Batch 1. Took off the metal cap and left the bottle for about thirty seconds. The cork popped out and scared the hell out of the wife. Lesson learned. Pours a light golden color with a nice chunky head. Aroma is citrus and funk. Nice and sweet with a bit of a bite. Have to get a fresh one and compare. zathrus13 (1296), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Bottle, batch #2. Cloudy yellow/gold, with a white head. Aroma is yeast, spices, citrus fruit, and bretty funkiness. Flavor is slightly sour and tart, with citrus fruit, yeast, spices, alcohol, and brett. Kind of like Duvel with Brett. Rating #1050. papajohn (1054), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2008 750 ml bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Cloudy pale apricot color with a huge rocky white head. Aroma is citrusy, spicy and floral. The flavor starts out fruity that is quickly over powered by the funky, spicy, yeasty, brett acidity. There are hints of leather and wood and the finish is dry, spicy orange rind. Medium body is spicy with lively carbonation. Kinda Orval like, love it or hate it. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Pours a semi cloudy pale golden with a thin white film head. Aroma is sweet fruit, slight horse blanket and citrus. Flavor is lightly spicy, light earthy and a bit citrus. Unfortunately the Brett does not shine through. Light bodied, chewy spicy texture. Abrupt spicy citrus finish. level4 (24), New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 29, 2008 750ml. Pours hazy golden color with decent sized white head. Smell is barnyard earthy funkiness - nice. Very lively with many tiny bubbles. Citrus and grass and yeast but with a nice lightly dry finish. Very drinkable and refreshing. I really enjoyed this and I’m glad I bought more than one. This is right up there with the most noteworthy Saisons in my opinion.
