Nice blonde colour with a slim white head. Yeasty and more tripel than saison if you ask me. Good hops, nice spice very Belgian indeed with no real American character at all. A good Belgian style ale but nothing to go crazy about.

Apr 11, 2008 Bottle, batch #1. Yellow pour, visible carbonation, and lotsa white head. Aroma is bretty, some yeast and some light grain; overall a little sour. The flavor has some timidly sweet malt, mostly just bland besides the brett / funk. There should be more flavor underneath.

Apr 11, 2008 Bottle. Slightly hazy golden with a big stable white head. Aroma of floral hops, yeast, some citrus and a bit of funky brett. Fruity flavor with some malt sweetness, some slightly spicy hops, some yeasty notes and a bit of brett (not nearly enough to make an impression) and very light sourness. Finishes bitter and hoppy. Medium-bodied. Enjoyable.

Apr 7, 2008 Maybe this mellowed in the four months I’ve had it. Maybe it was always mellow. I expected more from the "funk" label and the yeast strain. A fairly mild Saison. Not funky at all. Nice aroma. Medium taste. Maybe it has more of the funk I like when it is fresher. Bring on the funk!

Apr 6, 2008 Nose of sweat and Bret. Lemon meringue pie ... hazy yellow gold with a firm fluffy white head; head vanishes, leaving some lacing. Taste is funky sour, slightly yeasty, slightly ginger spicing, as advertised. Nicely hopped. Not killer, but nice. Silly name, offensive label. My label anything with a mushroom cloud? And if you must, this is only 8%; hardly ommegeddon ...
