| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2007 Ommegeddon is a cloudy hay-colored ale with a fluffy white head-- excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is spicy, sweet, sour, nutty, piney and soapy. Alcohol is in the nose. It is smooth but somehow hollow; medium bodied and very dry. It’s a little flat and the finish is crisp and arid. It’s buttery, a bit sour and nice and bitter-- a bit top-heavy even. It’s a little soapy and a touch leathery. It’s a very dry flavor. There is a bit of lemon and juniper at the end. It’s not extremely refined. The hops are nice but I wish there was a little more body to back it up. JAXSON (235), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Kind of nondescript aroma of dry, sour brett and yeast. Flavor is a an explosion of sour fruits -- orange, grapefruit, lemon, with strong leather and barnyard tones and a really dry finish. There is a kind of harsh lingering flavor too. TheRimmer (483), Florida, USA

Light aroma of candy, orange zest, yeast, and some apricot. Flavor begins sweet with hints of orange and then goes to a very sour middle with some flavors of apricot and grape and an extremely sour and cloying finish. Definitely needs to mellow. slimchill (777), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Bottle. Candy sweet nose with some apricot, orange, and peach. Slight sourness, lots of yeast aromas. Very cloudy pale orange with a patchy head. Complex yeast flavor, some spice in the finish. Very dry palate. Seems to need some time to mellow. Lots of muddled flavors that want to come out. beerbill (1939), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2007 750 ml bottle, Bottled June, 2007, Batch #1. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a moderate white head that lasted until about mid-glass. Very nice floral aroma with some citrus notes and a bit of funk from the Brett. The Brett was much more dominant in the flavor, with lots of tang / funk or whatever you want to call it. Some citrus and a little bit of honey sweetness noted in the flavor as well. Finish is dry and a bit abrupt. I have a second bottle and will be curious to see how this beer changes over time. BrewDad (2366), Olympia, Washington, USA

Aroma – A deep Belgian aroma with some strong hops also coming through. Some high alochol also coming out.
Appearance – Deep straw yellow color. Cloudy and thin head.
Flavor – A deep Belgian flavor with lots of hops this was a good Saison but the "Bret" was nothing to brag about for me.
Palate – Decent had some good flavors but was thin and odd for me
Overall –I liked parts of the beer but it was just not my style. "Bret" what ever in my book it is just a bug.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Well if the Patriots actually lost to the Eagles, it may as wll have been Armageddon. However the almighty Patriots pulled out yet another victory and saved the world. Bottle. Appearance was clear golden at first but then hazy, small head, fizzy. Aroma of honey, spicy hops, very tripel-like, some fruit, maybe apricot. The flavor was decent but something lost iin the overcarbonation. I let this settle and warm considerably before drinking the majority of it. Hints of cola, pilsner malt, some fruit, light bread, sugar, banana, citrus notes and a touch of wheat. Oh and the belgian yeast qualities were present, but I did not detect the funk, very little sourness or tartness. Good overall, but I found this beer to be too crisp, overcarbonated and bordering on acrid. I’ve yet to drink an Ommegang beer that really impresses.
