Commercial Description:
Belgian pale & pilsner malts w/ Styrian Golding for bittering and Saaz for aroma. Ginger predominates the spicing. Fermented in primary with Ommegang's house yeast, followed by secondary with Brettanomyces bruxellensis. Dry-hopped in secondary w/ a blend of hops; Tettnang being the stand-out. The flavor profile is very herbal with an earthy undertone (very fitting for a Belgian-style farmhouse ale). The dry finish and pronounced hop aromas hide the 8% abv very well. Dangerously drinkable for its strength and character.

Draft, Max’s 3rd Annual Belgian Beer Festival. Pours a cloudy medium yellow appearance; small, off-white head with light lacing. Warm, yeasty nose, showing coriander, marshmallow and floral notes. Full, chewy mouthfeel, slightly hot: tons of yeast, floral notes; a light lemony-hop bitterness; hints of a viscous, buttery character. Layered, satisfying. Long, yeasty and estery finish: floral and hints of citrus.

Pours a clear light golden yellow with a big even soft head, decreasing quickly enough. The nose is dry and spicy. Light wheaty malt with alcohol, spicy hops, a bit of straw. A bit yeasty, but mostly dry and alcoholic. The mouthfeel is about average. Low carbonation and not watery. The flavors are very dry and refreshing. Crisp hops, spicy, alcohol, and dry dry Brett! A bit of that pineapple-like fruit and straw. Very dry. Small hints of horseblanket, but nothing crazy, lingering driness. Leaves an astringency. This would be lovely as an every day beer for a quarter the price!

bottle batch 1 june 2007. this turned one year old so i thougt i would try it agian. pours a light cloudy straw colour with a perfectly white head that is lacy, pillowy, and a little soapy. very good looking. aroma is great with a good amount of brett coming through, floralness, earthy hay, and just slight sweetness in the background. the flavour is light and has a good hop bitter at first, then into some biscuity malts adn slight floral hop. there is defently some funkiness in the flavour adn finishes dry. with a little amount of apriicot or other pit fruit. very enjoyable may have more brett later, but very solid.

Batch 1.
Pours a light, straw colored with a nice, well carbonated, frothy white head. Smell is somewhat floral, with a tart aroma as well. Taste is wonderful brett, as well as some floral and spice. The perfect amount of carbonation as well. This is a pleasant surprise. I went into this beer not knowing what to expect and it has exceeded my expectations in every facet. This is a wonderful summer night while watching baseball kind of beer.
Creamy and smooth on the mouthfeel. Non-cloying and refreshing with each sip. Very easy drinking.

750ml bottle purchased at south bay, brought the bottle over to Bartzilla as he has wanted it forever and he decided to crack it and share. Thanks Bart. Pours golden straw, yellow with a thin ring of a bright white head. Nose is fragrant with a bit of pepper and spice but is also pretty fresh. The taste is well rounded sweet and very drinkable with a nice edge. Bart and I agree has a bit of an orval thing going on. pretty nice overall, usually not much of a saison guy but i needed to try this. Thanks for posting the availability Joey.

Batch #1 June 2007. Light sour malt aroma. Hazy yellow color with a small white head. Sweet beginning that mellows in the finish. Creamy and carbonated palate.

750ml. bottle from Metcalf Discount Liquor in OP, KS. Pour is mostly clear (just faint haze) pale yellow with a bunch of carbonation and a big, loose white head. Aroma of nice earthiness and yeast. I did not get too much of the Brett initially. Despite being quite earthy, this also very fresh smelling, some hay in the nose. Taste is very nice, beautiful Saison body, with a the Brett creating some pleasant sharpness beautifully integrated around the edges. Mid to light body makes this very drinkable. This is a very nice beer, and goes down far too easy. Will need to save the other bottle to enjoy with food.

Light hazy orange color with small white head and little lacing. Aroma is spicy and fruity with light citric notes. Similar flavor with strong spices, herbal hops, and light fruits. Slight alcohol tingle and very warming.
