tlind2 (560), Helsinki, Finland Jan 29, 2009 750 ml bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Amber color, off-white head. Floral aroma with spices. Sour berries and grapefruit in the flavor and some malts in the finish, which stops dead quite abruptly -- the beer is literally gone as soon as you swallow. Medium body, very high carbonation. The (lack of) finish kills the appeal for me. Kirill (264), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jan 25, 2009 very yeasty and bland, i can tell theres a hint of fruit but the yeast overpowers everything... its too sweet too... i guess its part of the belgian style thing but come on FatPhil (3449), Espoo, Finland Jan 25, 2009 750ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, American Weeks 2009)
Sweet fruity aroma, some hops, a touch of sharpness. Bready body, accentuated by the yeast. Buddy hoppy taste, and finish too. Very Belgian, and quite sophisticated. zeke626 (302), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jan 24, 2009 Bottle, pours a clear, golden amber body with generous, fluffy, white head. Aroma of belgian malts, yeast, banana, and clove with a hint of citrus. Flavor of sweet malts and orange with hints of spices, hops, and banana. Light fruit finish. Palate is light for the style, but not watery. Slightly fizzy on the palate and soft. Finish is fairly clean and dry. bradlyc77 (226), Sebastopol, California, USA Jan 23, 2009 Pours hazy golden orange with thin white head that hangs around. Aroma is spicy, banana, yeast, and some citrus. Taste is pretty much the same with some added earthiness and caramel. Hops bitterness is appropriate at light to moderate. Nice and crisp with dry finish. Mouthfeel is very prickly. This is a pretty good brew. kopher (296), New York, USA Jan 20, 2009 hazy orange pour, thick bubbly offwhite head
fruity and yeasty aroma, a bit if spice
very sharp mouthfeel, overcarbonated and a bit offensive
flavor is clean and well balanced, though maybe a bit thick and sweet in the finish doboy (175), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Jan 17, 2009 Pours a dark orange with a fluffy head that retains well. Nice spicy Belgian aroma. Nicely carbonated. Tastes of malt, hops, corrieander and spice blend well. Nice bittering and dryness on the back side.
