On tap at Flying Saucer. Pours a cloudy copper orange with a small frothy white head that lasts awhile leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is clove and cereal malt. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet fruity malt with cereal and spice with a nice lingering dry finish. Easy to drink, a very good belgian ale from Ommegang.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Houston. Medium amber-red and a bit cloudy with a small but solid white head. The nose brings spices and sweet malt, with smooth light caramel tones and a little toastiness. Flavor opens with candy sugar, then some spicy light caramel malt. A little bready in the body, with some soft citrus tones at the finish. A nice Belgian yeast character carries through the flavor, and the spiciness is a bit reminscent of a saison, yet it’s sweeter as a whole. A very enjoyable beer as a whole.

Very clean and fruity on the palate. Nice medium malty body. Finishes a little light for my taste. A very drinkable session beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 chickenflea (227) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - DEC 9, 2010
Beer poured a caramel color with a large frothy head. Aroma was coriander, orange peel, grains of paradise, with honey-like malts and caramel. Taste was very sturdy. This brew will not be overwhelmed by typical bar foods. Sweetness was moderate with a pleasant balanced spiciness. Grainy. Mouthfeel was thick at first, but mellows quickly and dissipates on the palate. Overall an excellent beer. Substantial.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 16/20 elektrikjester (61) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - DEC 8, 2010
Pours a bright amber with a fairly thin, bit persistent white head. A yeasty aroma dominates. Flavor is driven by yeast with some fruit (cherry) in the background. So much yeast flavor that hops and malts not really discernible. A tingly mouthfeel with slight carbonation. Overall, a good Belgain style ale. Not the most distinctive, bit fine for what it is. Very drinkable.

The Half Pint, NY ($6): Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma is rather malty and fruity. There are too few notes of Belgian yeast in my opinion (but then again I am just a sucker for that particular Belgian trait). Upon tasting it, there are a good few spicy notes, along with a bit of hops, but mostly there are just a lot of malts. Now, this is a good thing, as this beer is very well-balanced and it can be either savored or chugged. A little sweet, but not too much in any direction. A well-crafted Belgian amber.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 HumanBeing (19) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 2, 2010
Delicious belgian ale. Sweet malt and great balance on the bitter. Fruity and spicy. A must drink beer

Ah this brings me back to Belgian beer cafe bliss. Pours bronze with bubbly, dying head, thin lacing down the glass. Funky, spicy aroma. Flavor bounces between cherries, wood, and funktastic yeast. Very bubbly on the palate.
