MoDog (909), Griffith, Indiana, USA Sep 2, 2008 Poured from a 750ml caged and corked bottle and served in a tulip. This beer poured a hazy amber with a one-finger thick head of lasting, tight beige foam. A nice coat of lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of spicy yeast, sugary caramel, and some light orange peel. The flavor consisted of lightly bitter orange peel, bready yeast, and caramelized sugar. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with an ample amount crisp, assertive carbonation. Not overly complex, but quite tasty and drinkable. Another nice brew from Ommegang. MartiniFiend (104), Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Amber in color with a large foamy head. Aroma is of fruits and yeast. Smooth and creamy mouth feel. Flavor starts out a sweet malty mix with a spice middle and a yeast finish. Reminds me of a weiss beer on tap. Indulgence (141), Ajo, Arizona, USA Aug 30, 2008 Another wonderful brew from Ommegang... nice dark amber body, some yeast floaters, large voluminous head settles down to a finger head, always bubbly like fine champagne, flavors aren’t as defined as I’d like, but nice candied apricots and light color fruits, bready, and some soury spicing... palate is light, full bodied and tingling... I’ll take one of these anytime. HonkeyBra (1264), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 30, 2008 Amber pour with white head. Fruity, yeasty, spicey aroma. Flavor is a bit fruity, a bit yeasty, yet pretty incredible. A bit of a sour in the finish. This beer is excellent. BillKismet (1896), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 27, 2008 Orange-amber with thick, luxurious head, Aroma of light fruitiness and mild yeastiness with some intriguing sweetish spice notes. Medium-bodied with an under-developed flavor. Mildly yeasty flavor, but not enough to excite the palate. Light sour touches with a moderately beery flavor. Flavor flattens out on the tongue. A rather uninspired Belgian ale. Marsiblursi (1631), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 24, 2008 (Bottle) Pours hazy deep amber to glowing red with a creamy white head. The aroma is heavily fruity and light to medium spicy with tones of sweet yellow apples, apricots, peaches, pineapples, overripe pears, mild white pepper, coriander and light hints of fresh herbs. Malt and hops bring tones of crispy crackers, light caramel, white sugar and a touch of flowers and grass. The flavour is fruity up front with tones of citrus but there is also some notes of apples and apricots. Undertones of grassy bitter hops and toasted/cracker-like malt. The mouthfeel is soft carbonated and round. Light sweet and near medium hoppy. Bit dry. The aftertaste is earthy and grassy bitter. Medium bodied.
unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours amber lightly clouded with a shorrt offwhite head that stays briefly and laces a little. Aromas of caramel apples , some yeast, and light spice. Flavor is caramel apples, yeast and definitely some corriander. Complex for a low alcohol brew and pretty tasty. Light carbonation creamy mouthfeel. Spice finish makes it a little dry there. Pretty easy to drink. Not bad.
verymerrymonk (255), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 23, 2008 Pours a cloudy orange with a healthy white head. Peaches, caramel, some spice. So soft and drinkable. Delicious.
