COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brussels’ great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

Bottled. Poured a copper color with a little head. aroma of sweet fruit and yeast. taste: like fresh baked bread in the morning, and then a little sweetness kind of like some dried apricots.

I felt this was pretty fantastic--a pleasant surprise as it was found on draught in a rather small town and I was expecting just another Ommegang riff on some Belgian style. This is by far the best Ommegang brew I’ve tried (at this point, I think I’ve had all but the rarer ones).

This poured a darker orange color with a white head. Aroma some hay, yeast and brewers sugar. Flavor was much the same a bit bland, basic belgian beer, a bit boring.

Pours orange brown with very large foamy off-white head. Smells of esters, malts and bready yeast. Tastes of yeast, sweet caramel, apricot with some spice. Some hops come through.

Bottle. Pours a very nice looking murky amber with very frothy beige head. Aroma of some light citrus, dark fruit, hints of licorice, faint leather, notes of Belgian candy sugar. Flavor is very much the same with small notes of caramel, some spiciness. Mouth feel is medium body with fizzy carbonation. Overall, a very nice, enjoyable beer.

Bottle. Poured a reddish-brown. Very fruity in the taste, some spice as well. Good, but not one of Ommegang’s best.

Aroma of hops and sweet bread. Pours a clear amber with very little head. Tastes of bitter fruit, white wine, and hops. Palate is light, with a dry, but lingering bitter finish.
