COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brussels’ great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

[Bottle] Pours a rich amber color with a dense white head. Aroma of grains and caramel. Taste is of hazelnut, sweet caramel, bread, yeast, apple and light plum. Sweet and somewhat sticky finish. Decent mouthfeel. Quite drinkable and well made.

Has a light brown color, with a light hazy appearance. The taste is straight up belgian. A little bit of spicey, a little bit of wheat and barely. Lingers very long on the tongue and has a very long after taste.

Comes out of the tap a pretty clear amber with a fine off-white head. I did not get much, but this was doubtless a product of how it was poured. Sweetish aroma is malty and strong and has a subtle butterscotch undertone. Mouth-filling flavor is yeasty and malty and has a fruity undertone with a hint of butterscotch and a whisper of sweetness. Texture is tingly, fizzy and lively.

The beer is a very nice amber color with good to moderate lacing. Anyway, the smell is spicy and Belgian. It’s a little muted, but there are good notes of dough, coriander, earth and light fruit, maybe apricots. The taste is quite good and a bit of an improvement on the aroma. Some lemon flavor makes itself known, along with more spicing and some background caramel. The feel is sparkly and nice, but it gets a tad sticky in an odd way. The finish is just a bit watery sticky, rather than full sticky if that makes any sense. I keep trying to like Ommegang more, but this one doesn’t quite have me on the bandwagon as much as I would like.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy glowing amber color with a voluminous head that amply fills my Duvel tulip. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, fruity notes including citrus, apple and strawberry and just a faint bit of yeasty tartness. The taste is bread, banana, strawberry, spice, citrus, mango and like the aroma is midly tart throughout. Medium-full bodied. Good beer.

Deep cloudy orange with medium head. Very Belgian fruit-n-spice aroma. Sweet with a bit of tanginess. Feel is a bit thin/weak, though, for the style.

Light hazed red orange with oily laced head. Aromas of ginger, slight orange peel, light lemon grass, tart fruits, slight caramel under little alcoholic esters. Flavors of light spice, slight lemon grass, wheat, undertones of caramel. Slightly bubbly on the palate, lightly tart, slight sweetness. Maybe a little to tart for my taste here...I do though, depending on other factors, prefer a rather sweeter more complex Belgian. For the abv I wasn’t expecting grandeur eather....A prime example of a Belgian.
