A good ambre. And, since I don’t particulary care for amber beers (besides De Konick...), this one makes a very positive impression. Could be enjoyed in pints. Not overwhelming but certainly a positive experience. kiefdog (1586), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 15, 2008 75cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa). Pours an orange-honey-golden color with a thick creamy white-tan head that nicely laces the glass. Smells of sweet malt, hints of caramel and spice. Taste is very similar to Kwak, but not as good of an ale--Has notes of spice, malt, bread, yeast, and apple with a slight "tang." demdeac40 (240), Etowah, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Pours a nice transluscent amber with a nice fluffy head. The nose is candied fruit and a nice spiciness (clove, coriander). Lacks a little in the mouth. Same spice and fruits, nice light banana, but in a watered down version. The nose promised more. Finishes clean with a pleasant after taste. Haslinger (642), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Corked bottle, Decent aroma of spice and citris, definitely some fruit in there, yeast is definitely there. Not a bad beer but I think there are much better Belgians on the market and would not buy it again posikyle (165), Alabama, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Pours a beautiful pumpkin color, with a thick head with smooth bubbles. Tastes very malty, with some caramel and raisin undertones and a slightly yeast-like finish. Very good, definitly buy again. BlackForestCO (820), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear golden-amber color with rising bubbles and a thick, fluffy off-white head that left nice lacing. Spicy (clove), yeast aroma with light caramel, banana, and some other light fruity notes. Smooth, lightly spicy entry (clove, light ginger) lead into a crisp, yeasty flavor with undertones of citrus, light banana, and some light coriander spice on the finish. Moderate mouthfeel, a bit thin on the finish. Pretty solid for a Belgian. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2008 bottle at Market Cross, Shippensburg: pours an amber color with thick head of slightly large bubbles. looks very beauitiful and picture worthy almost as a good belgian ale should. flavor was mellow, some clove phenols and some apple perhaps and a slightly toasty maltiness. very spritzy and digestable mouthfeel. alright overall, nothing great, but decent. btree (14), New York, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Out of the Tap at Borough Food and Wine in Manhattan. Poured into weird skinny "Rare Vos" shaker style glass. Thick foamy head, lots of carbonation in a cloudy amber pour that clears quickly. Coriander and yeasty aromas, delicate hops. Characteristic Beligian taste. Pairs excellently with fried and oily foods as the crispness and mild citrus clears the palate wonderfully.
